Just wondering who all of you used to take your ccw course. Id prefer an 8 hour or shorter with live fire. It would be a huge plus if you do not need a concealed carry holster, I have holsters for all 3 of my pistols but nonwe for ccw, they are all to big to carry.

I took my class with Kelly from this board (KellyTTE).
Good class, but it doesnt meet your criteria. It was 2 days long. I appreciated it immensly.

My wife took Jim from this boards class (Jim).

His class was excellant, and focused on shooting and stopping the threat. The entire class was taught while shooting. He is in the Windsor area and well worth the money. I would definetly reccommend Jim.

His class will take 3-4 hours, and you can use the holster you have.

Took mine through "conceal 2 Carry" 8 hr. course ( guys at the Fun Shows ).
$ 125 if I recall correctly, only had to fire their .22 auto. I have plenty of firearms experience but was out of the military too long. I used them just to meet the qualifications of training.

Several members run classes, ColoCCW is one, KellyTTE, TheInternet and more. You won't go wrong with any of them, that's the beauty of this forum, we all know each other and have earned the respect of the other members. You can check out the training section, that should have some links and class info as well as point you at some of their sites and or PM info.

I honestly don't remember who I did my class through, it was straight forward NRA basic pistol and a quick range trip that in the end they (the instructors) said my buddy and I didn't have to do. Wish I could remember the name..
