you know this is going to turn out Bad... Fleeing Suspects shot.

Bravo for armed self defense
Bravo for not being a victim
meh for judgment

Still, you think the "Suspects" will get the hint and find something else to do?

I hear Panhandling is a good trade this time of year

That second shopkeeper did pretty good if he fired and scored hits on both.

Hats off to both of them, bravo for the 2nd clerk that landed hits on both of them.

Will the clerks be in legal trouble for shooting when their life was not at risk? Don't get me wrong. I'm all for shooting bad guys. But it seems like for home owners you have to have a knife sticking out of your back before you can 'justify' using a gun.

I hope the clerks aren't charged. Suspects were fleeing the crime scene, however one could argue the suspects were going to their vehicle to gather additional weapons...

I'm happy they did it, but I bet both store keepers will be in court for the next 2 years over this.

If an uninvited person is in the same room with you while holding a gun in their hand, you'd think it was pretty safe to assume that your life is in danger.

On second thought, I'm not sure how I should feel about this. If the clerks were white the shootings were most likely racially motivated. At least after the story goes national anyway.

Are there minorities in Aurora, CO? I've never been.

Seriously though
The first guy can argue that the discharge of the weapon SENT the Perps fleeing.
Prove him wrong...

The Second guy however, might be in a tad bit of trouble if the entry wounds are in the Perps Back...
If the entry wounds are in his front, he has a good argument.

Otherwise, its just a news story and not truth.
Guess we have to wait and see.

If both scenarios are roughly the same. That being, Two people with "cloth" over their faces and one of them armed.

That's justification in my book. Hopefully there will be enough community support for them.

Police are allowed to shoot armed people in the back. Civilians should be able to as well.

I want to see the Brady Campaign spin this.

No matter what the circumstances, the clerks will both be demonized by the media and the crooks will not only go free but probably end up with a sizable chunk of change as a result. Make my day is a two edged sword in Colorado these days.

Expand.

The Brady campaign can say, "If they were running a Build-A-Bear instead of a liquor store, they probably wouldn't have been robbed."

Just watched the report on 7news and they were pretty much on the side of the stores/clerk/owners whatever

They are trying to tie the robbers to other crimes in the area.

Sometimes, Just Sometimes, the Media doesn't fuck it up :D

Nothing in law says you can't shoot someone in the back...its all about articulation

Kill 'em in the first place and they won't live to tell "their side".

Hopefully this does not end up like the case in Wheatridge and Robert Wallace.

I like the way you think

I get asked all the time at work and obviously have to be very careful how I word things for liability issues, but I tell a lot of homeowners, "Make sure there is only one story to tell."

Totally correct.
