Range near Littleton?

Ok, I got my first rifle, a M&P15T, the other day and would like to try it out.

Where is the best place to try it out at?

If anyone wants to join me I'm planing on taking it to the Silver Bullet Shooting Range tomorrow but if anyone knows a better place let me know.

I'm in the same boat you are. I've been looking for a place where I can shoot out to 400 yards and not just in a straight line like the Cherry Creek range offers.

Ben Lomand Gun Club has a Littleton section. It's a little bit of a hike, but you are not going to find anything else closer with the same facilities. clear Creek in Dumant is another option, 100 yds max and a waiting list. aurora Gun Club, good luck with that. Somewhere in the mountains is the next option, and that can be hit and miss.

I have a spot about 40min away from my place (Arapahoe and University)... miles of open space to set up in. If you'd like, we can go out there.

I'm going to be looking in to the Ben Lomand range but I'm open to suggestions. Coming from California I'm not familiar with the ability to head off to a plot of nowhere to shoot. I've been here since the end of November and I haven't been able to give my AR any range time.
