Amen to that Stag. I can't imagine anyone who has ever served not tearing up after watching that.
My mother-in-law just passed away a few weeks ago. I spent a couple of weeks with my father-in-law who served in WWII and was captured at the very end of the war by the Germans. While still fighting he saw his best friend get shot and killed right next to him. He was re-patriated and, since he was still in great shape, taken to assist other U.S. troops to help at a Jewish concentration camp. I can only imagine the horrors he saw. He won't talk about ANY of it. I only know what I know from what my wife and mother-in-law told me through the years.
He did it all for US; his wife, his daughter, and even ME. Because he has never wanted to talk about it I've tried to honor his silence and never ask about his experiences. Nor have I ever told him THANK YOU for what HE did for US. I think it's far past due.
If it weren't for the brave efforts of the men and women (yes, even women) who fought the aggression of the Axis powers, we'd be living in an entirely different world. A world where most of us would never have known the freedoms (as limited as we feel they have become) that we enjoy today.
While I served, I never had to fight but I know plenty of people who did. Many of those who served during WWII and Korea have left us, but not all of them, and we've still got veterans who served in Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, the Philippines, Desert Storm I & II, Iraq, Afghanistan, and on other fronts. Today is the day that I tell them THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Good video. Does anyone know the name of the documentary they're watching?
I never served. I appreciate and admire those who have.
I can't get the video to work for me.
Sadly I was in the killemall and let God sort em out scenario. But looking back they were just people like us. And war sucks regardless of the outcome/cause.
