Equipment
___________

1. 22rf rifle, or any similar caliber
2.Stoney Point monopod shooting stick
3.Low level beach lounge chair or Cabela's turkey hunting lounge chair with backing.
4.Shooting mat [optional]
5.Plenty of ammo

I was at the range yesterday, shooting my Kimber Classic 22rf bolt rifle at tennis balls hung from my target frame by a string at 100 yds.

I was sitting on my Cabela's turkey hunting lounge chair, which is about three inches off the ground with back support. I was not using a shooting jacket. I noticed heart beat pulse shaking of the rifle when the butt-stock was tucked into my shoulder pocket. Besides a shooting jacket too get rid of that heart beat pulse shake, shooting right handed, use the following method which I just thought-up that day:

Square up the chair with sleight 45 degrees, plant right shoulder into rear cover of the seat. For a right handed shooter, have your left knee raised up with your left hand rested on or near kneecap. Grab shooting stick with top of stick height two or three inches above the top of the knee. Cradle the gun with the v-notch of the shooting stick just forward of the trigger guard; with bottom of stick tilted 45 degrees forward on the ground, just in front of the chair, right knee relaxed.

Put rear of butt-stock above the shoulder and plant it into the rear backing of the seat. Get a cheekweld on the stock, suprisingly you should have have no trouble in getting perfect eye relief!

Grab forend with your left hand, or better yet just grab the sling swivel

Put trigger hand thumb tip behind and at top of the outside rear portion of the trigger guard for support. Put last three fingers below the v-notch in front of the shooting stick. Put index finger on trigger when you are ready to fire.

I haven't tried it yet with my dedicated 22 AR yet, but I am looking forward to it. I'll just grab the pistol grip with my trigger hand.

For now, I'm coining it as the "El Capitan Rimfire Rifle Positon"; or the "modified reclined sitting position".

Needless to say, I shot the snot out of that tennis ball!

You have instant sight read because of the 100 yd. backstop, plus you can learn to shoot a swinging target.

Went out to the range today in the pouring down rain, and I made some changes in the grip, like top of shooting stick height above the knee instead of below.
Sorry about the mistake.
