The owner of the Segway company has died, apparently in an accident involving one of his upright two-wheeled vehicles, police in England said Monday. The body of James Heselden, 62, was pulled from the River Wharfe in northern England on Sunday, police said.
A Segway-type vehicle was recovered from the river, police said.
The incident is not thought to be suspicious, police said.
I guess some other article is suggesting that he drove off a cliff or something. The headline should have read, "Segway to Heaven."
Do stupid stuff, expect stupid results..
It could only be more ironic if he was run over by a segway....

heard about that, and laughed a bit as well. The only thing greater may have been if he was hit by the Tiny Town train, killed, and that's what caused the tiny derailment

Breaking News: Retards who drive their Segways over a cliff will now will be referred to in the federal government as "slightly socially depreciated individuals who bravely explored the unknown in bi-wheeled devices".
In related news, Segway is now considered a negative term by congress, implying that accidental death can occur, now referred to as "improvised powered bicycles". Please reference article titled "Improvised Powered Bicycle company required to disclaim that harm may come to less than ideally intelligent individuals who ride them".
A fiting departure in my brain.
Somehow i found this ironic and amusing

This isn't Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway, just the British owner of either the Segway brand or their UK operations, I'm not sure. Dean Kamen is someone I respect, he's done some remarkable things -- for example the heart stint that kept Cheney and many others alive was his. The technology for the Segway was developed as part of the iBot wheelchair,

PPS, his private island "succeeded" from the United States, and a non-agression pact was signed by G.H. Bush -- https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/North_Dumpling_Island -- The island also features a full size replica of Stonehenge. Yes, he is a bit of an eclectic fellow.
He owned segway. Bought it from the inventor a couple of years ago.
