View Full Version : Places near Broomfield
Looking for a place to shoot near Broomfield. . .200+ yard would be a plus. I shoot mostly pistol, but also enjoy the rifle range, skeet field and archery
I've looked at a couple places that have 2 year waits and I'm not looking to wait 2 years to shoot
Thanks
oh, I find it ironic that moving from the anti-gun state of Mass and I had a choice of 6 clubs less than 30 minutes drive and probably 20 places within an hour. I move here and cant find a place less than an hour away
There are a few places less than an hour away, but not for 200+ yards. You could drive 1.5 hours and be in Pawnee Grasslands and shoot at least 200 yards pretty easily.
i bet theres no 1200+ yard range in mass either. check out the chaffe county shooting range its 2.5 hrs but its free, and LONG

A big part of that problem came in with the influx of new residents and their ideas from both coasts.
Another option is the boulder rifle club which i am lucky to belong to. do to the long waiting list as a few of you know about, but we do offer public days currently every weekend sat,sun for hunting season up to 100 yards its open for the public. there is a 25 yard and 50 yard range as well the fee is like 10 or 15 bucks for the day includes a target. its an option we do have a 200 yard range, but usually not open for the public.
other than looking up in the mountains for some places not closed by the forest service yet! that would be your best bet for somthing 200+ yards unless you want to join Colorado rifle club in byers Colorado has 1000 yard range or buffalo creek gun club in bailey, which has 600 yard range, but i know there are places around there you can just shoot for free to begin with anyway!
keep your eyes out for the new police range longmont county and boulder county are in the process of funding. its supposed to be offered for the public as well, but who knows how long this will take to open and or the implications and rule and so forth. i know many shooters are trying to make it turn into somthing good since we are paying for it anyway!

Anyone a member at this place? It looks really nice! I'd be curious to hear from members... [Stooge]

Yeah, what you wanna hear ?
Yeah, what you wanna hear ?
Some feedback would be good if possible. How do you like it? Do you get along with other members? Have you had any issues?
It looks like a very nice place. My main concerns would be lane availability (how busy is it usually) and ventilation quality.
Please feel free to PM me if you'd like. Thanks! [Beer]
Trigger Time is a great indoor range. Being that this is a brand new range build from the ground up, the ventilation system is top notch.
The gentleman who manages this range is named Paul G. Give him a call; he's a nice a fellow and will gladly give you a tour of the facility as well as answer any additional questions you may have.

Thanks for the input. My buddy and I are planning on checking it out tomorrow. Any other input is appreciated. [Stooge]
i have been to trigger time it's a very nice range you get what you pay for! the gun store or pro shop is set up very nice and their are some pretty good deals to be had there! heck out of all the other stores trigger time had the extra P226 .22lr conversion magazines for my dads gun i was looking for, saved us about 10 dollars in shipping and their tax rate is low 3.9 i believe
Nice, neat and clean range. People there are pretty much pro-gun, so how could you not like them :)
No problems with aircon, even with comped pistols and rifles - best indoor ranges I have seen aircon wise. And I have seen a few...
There is usually room from tuesday to friday, even evenings when I go shoot there. Only exception is thursday, when they have Combat League match there - space may be pretty limited on the pistol range then.
I do not know much about weekends, I hardly ever go there on saturday or sunday.
Buying something from the store, CCW ammo, primers, cleaning supplies etc. They seem to have lots of LR and AR stuff you can not find from Sportmans Warehouse, or otherwise locally.
Paul is a nice guy, you should definitely talk to him first.
Worst thing is, like many indoor ranges, you have only 1 lane for shooting. So no multiple targets, shooting on the move etc.
Thanks for the input guys! We're going to check out the range today. :)
