Yankee Hill EZ Pull Takedown Pins

Of all the useless and seemingly overly tacticool modifications and accessories available for the AR platform and its owners; the Yankee Hill EZ Pull Takedown pins are not to be counted among the ever increasing array of QD, EBR, CQD or overpriced BS products out there.

In fact, they are probably the single most effective modification that can be made.

Installation is a direct replacement and straightforward, fit and finish is good. Usefulness is assured. They make breaking down a weapon a snap. No more poking and pushing and taping to get your weapon apart for cleaning or to break down for storage.

I've installed them on my last half-dozen or so builds and recommend them to anyone who has occasion to separate the upper from lower assemblies for say, cleaning.

Perhaps its just me, but I have honestly never had issue with the Standard Pins.

Anyone else care to chime in?
I've Seriously never had a problem in 8 years of Military service and 30+ years as a shooter. Press and pull.

If it ain't broke it don't need to be fixed ! I'm with ya Byte-I have no problem with the standard take downs. I'm not bashing the OP's idea but I just don't see the need.$19 that could be a couple of mags. [Beer]

I use them on my SBR lower. It is a real tight lower and everything is a bitch to take on and off.

I use the rear pin on some of my competition rifles. If I pop a primer and need to break it down in a hurry, it will help things.

They are a cant hurt, might help kind of thing.

I've thought about trying a set, but I have one of the small pin pushers that makes popping the pins out easy so I just haven't yet. I'd rather get non-rotating pins, but I may get a set for my SPR just to try them.

I'm with Byte on this one too. It's as easy as finding a stick to push the pins out. I typically use an unfired round because mine aren't too difficult to push out. The thing that looks a little suspect to me is that those could very easily get hung up on gear or even a sling especially for left hand shooters. The worst thing I could imagine happening is having a pin get pulled free and start to walk it's way out then all the sudden you got your rifle falling apart at the worst possible time.

If it's just a range gun I'm sure it's fine...my rifle is a range gun for sure...but in the oft chance that I actually need to use my rifle I don't want it falling apart.

These EZ pulls are on every AR I've ever owned. They make it much easier to pivot the rec'r for cleaning. I have always had trouble pushing out the rear pin. Why? I use Accu-wedges.

I've never had any problems with any of mine but could see the use for it just being easier to help with tear down

Interesting for a quick release take down, great for the comp shooters. I turned a piece of plastic down and keep it in my p/grip for popping the pins.
