Never thought I'd have a use for that smilies.
Wife is a doc and she doesn't want an autopsy done or donate her body to science. Understand more why now. Who leaves the damn name on it? How HIPAA is that?
Well if the parents didn't sign their kid up for organ donation then no parts should have been kept.
Maybe they are upset and want to make sure it doesn't happen again, or maybe they're trying to cash in. The report didn't say if they're asking for damages.
Some people out there, you step on their toe and they demand a new pair of shoes.
My personal belief is when the spirit is gone what's left is just meat that will turn to dust. As an organ donor I hope they do keep my brain in a jar. I want a simple pine box, not even a pretty one at that.
Sounds like some bullshit to me. If they are supposed to put everything back then that is what needs to happen. I consider this stealing from the dead and they can't do anything about it. The parents had to be devestated...they lose their child in a car accident but then have to find this out later. And what makes it worse is the kids friends had to see his brain in a jar on display while on a field trip only a couple months after his death.

I wonder if the kid was an organ donor. Has anyone ever been informed of what being an organ donor entails, I think most people assume it's to donate the organ to save a persons life.
But still, wouldn't the ME need the surviving relative's permission to keep organs (especially if they're under 18).

Yes this situation is messed up. I understands why they are freaking out over it. But.... (now ppl don't get mad) I don't think that I would make a huge deal out of it. To me if someone is dead they are dead. They don't need there brain. So to have there brain out on display or to use it for some sort of learning is fine by me. I understand that they lost there son. and this may sound heart less but he is dead. Has been. Move on... The more they extend all of this the harder it will be for everyone involved..... Just my personal Belief and opinions. I guess thats why im an organ donor and want to be cremated.
