Someone confirm please? I am seeing 2 F-22 raptors in the South Metro sky.

Dunno about South Metro, but I've seen 'em around The Springs recently.

We see them often in Colorado Springs, fun to watch at the AF games, they come in low, kick in the AB and climb 5k ft under full power straight up. Leaves everyone shaking and quiet for a minute. Good stuff.

Down here we have everything.

This past weekend was an air show and they had Raptos, Hornets, Warthogs, and even old biplanes, etc. It was neat. I didn't even have to go as I could sit on my front porch and watch them through the binocs.

Nah, no raptors are assigned to specifically Buckley Airbase... otherwise I would ve camped out and take some pictures. The only raptors in CO are in the Springs for the recent air show.

Per my calls, they said, those raptors are probably on transit. Darn it!

Seen em when fishing at 11 mile straiffing the lake.

I heard some guys flyin loud this morning, a few hours ago...were they Raptors?

I know I saw some Hornets a few days ago...their tail end looks similar to the F-22...

There was something this weekend (I think it was a 14, but what do I know) so low and loud that it rattled a few pictures off my wall. So much win!!!

Some of you guys on here who are pilots (whether fast birds or commercial), I envy y'all so much.

Probably wasn't a F-14...they were sent to the boneyard last year.

A few years ago an F-15 Eagle flew low enough to shake some stuff off my walls...

Somethin was flyin around down here this morning. I couldn't see what they were from my vantage point due to the low cloud cover but they definitely weren't traffic out of Centennial that's for sure.

Could hear the roar coming forever before they finally passed overhead at my place...

Dunno, they had those moveable wings. I thought that was the 14? It doesn't matter. What does matter is that it was AWESOME!!

I missed the airshow, but I did see an F-4 flying around. That was cool, it had been a long time.

Gentlemen,
That is the sound of freedom. They are still flying around Buckley, but I haven't gone out to see what they are. Seems there is a lot of them, more than normal.

a couple of years ago I was working down in FL. One of the cell sites was right outside Tyndall AFB, almost at the end of the runway. Got to see F-22s take off right over my head. That was pretty damn cool.

F-22's come through Buckley periodically. We also have a lot of F-15's, 16's, and 18's come through. All the -14's are gone, not even to the boneyard. The Navy stripped them and cut them up to prevent the Iranians from ever getting any parts from them. A lot of the noise is probably our own F-16's. Depending on the day, sometimes we put up a bunch of them.

Cockpit photos of F-22's are old news - (yawn).

If that photo had been posted, say, ten years ago, then maybe there would be a problem. But these days the photos are everywhere.

.....Google it and you'll be overwhelmed with photos!

They are always flying low and slow over Aurora Gun Club. I think they are coming in to land when they fly directly over the top of the range.

On a little different note, my wife's parents live very close to the South Site and a couple times per month there is some sort of military exercise going on over their house at night. Lots of Helicopters coming in and circling directly above the sub-division for hours. Anyone have a clue what that might be? We visit sometimes and I love to watch and listen to it but it's a pain in the ass when I am trying to get my baby to sleep and all the damn windows are rattling and the paintings are shaking on the wall for an hour...

They truly are circling DIRECTLY above all the houses...makes me wonder what kind of training they are doing above a rural residential area...

Yesterday, one F16, west bound over downtown, in a hurry, but obviously not under full power, happens every few days, sometimes more than one.

Love it. Great sound and thoughts of freedom!

AGC and the fields around it are considered a potential ditch site for the yard-darts. Just sayin... If it's flyin funny (1 engine plus 1 flame-out plus zero glide slope equals instant brick), might be time to go.[Coffee]

You would think that...

Sept 12th, everyone loved the noise of our planes.

Nows we get noise complaints all the time.

Our pilots can't come back and just land. The only time I remember them doing a straight-in approach was after Sep. 11th. Otherwise, they come back and do 2-4 touch and goes every flight. AGC just happens to be under the flight path if they turn to the east at the north end of the runway.

I was leaving base Wednesday afternoon and a couple had just come back doing their usual show circling to the west. I don't think they were more than 500' up as they came around over my truck with the throttle pushed up. Even after almost 24 years that's still impressive! Makes you wonder what's going through the Taliban's mind as they watch 'em pickle off ordnance...[Abused]

I thought they were referring to the new off road, street legal Ford Truck called the Raptor.

I don't know what's going through their mind when they see that but I'm sure piss is going through their pants!

Them doing touch and goes must be why it seems like there are always 10-12 of them. Must just be 3 or 4. I stop what I'm doing and watch them every time.

@SA Friday - As for the area around AGC being a potential ditch site...I guess I better start looking up more often. Trying to scare me off because your name is on the waitlist? I'm not going anywhere so you'll have to scare someone else off with stories of potentially being hit by a falling jet. :D

I had the pleasure of being the target of a couple simulated strafing runs by a pair of Blackhawks on Jewell and Gun Club :)
