Some whack job shot up an elementary school in San Diego (http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/10/08/california.school.gunman/). Fortunately, no one was killed. Unfortunately, that includes the shooter...[Rant1]

Several thoughts crossed my mind here.
First, God, I hope those kids are going to be OK.
Then, we have a big man with a gun who dressed in black and took a couple of firearms to "assault" an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL? Wow, what a big man he is.
Next, what a damn shame those construction workers didn't accidentally beat him to death. Come on, children? Really? What the hell is wrong with these whack jobs?
Then, I went to High School in Carlsbad. I still have a couple friends there.
Last, I don't understand how this could possibly have happened. After all, California has some of the most strict gun laws in the country. Shouldn't those have prevented this? (Heavy sarcasm)

The story SHOULD have read something like this.



(PNN) -- A gunman opened fire at an elementary school in Carlsbad, California, Construction workers at Kelly Elementary School returned fire Killing the 41-year-old male suspect shortly after noon, Eppel said. Police do not suspect the man has a relationship with any students at the school.

Worker (Name) told KGTV that he got his Ruger .40 and was able to wound the gunman with several rounds. The man, dressed in black, was then killed by other construction workers and witnesses in a hail of gunfire.
