View Full Version : Newborn taken because father is Oathkeeper supporter
Been watching this on ridleyreport on youtube.
Apparently child protective services in NH took custody of a newborn, in the affidavit they list one of the reasons as the father is a supporter of the Oathkeepers "militia" and "had purchased several different types of weapons, including a rifle, handgun, and taser."
They also say the infant was neglected, yet the child was taken as soon as it was born.

I haven't made my mind up yet but so far this seems extremely fishy to me. Removal of a child because of group affiliation of a parent is extremely illegal.
Yah, it is so fishy and so illegal--so very, very illegal--that there must be lots more to the story. I saw another article which said that it was actually a matter with these people's other children being abused or neglected, and so they took custody of the new baby as well. But haven't actually seen any news on the matter...and who would believe what the news printed anyway?

There MUST be something else............ most of the articles I have read about this ( 4 total so far ) all say " we can't say whatelse was in the affidavit due to privacy concerns" and one even went to say " the other charges are serious"
Which means there must be some serious BS goin on with the other charges......
HOWEVER....
Listing the whole "oathkeepers" ( a group I fundamentally disagree with ... tho I'll defend their right to be the way they are with my own life) as a factor is some bullshit. I feel this was probably ONE asshole cop ....... or more likely ONE asshole douchebag DA lawyer including this in the paperwork.
What if this was a muslim baby born into a extremist muslim family ? . oh wait that would never happen .. can't offend the minority ......... but the majority .. fuck em... And the ACLU would be alllllllllllllllll the hell over it.
I totally trust the .gov system with children[Swim]

Very seldom is there only one reason.
Just seeing the title of this thread my first thought was that there must be a lot more to the story. If there are charges serious enough to take the baby as soon as it is born, then mention of this organization is not at all necessary. Makes me second guess the validity of the other charges, even though I have no idea what they are.

I think your post is one of the funniest things I have seen in a bit.
This is how I read that....
"I fundamentally disagree with a group that feels that defending the constitution is more important than obeying orders or laws that would contradict it, but I would defend them with my life against any attacks upon them because such an attack would be against the constitution."
Huh. I hate people that think the sky is blue but would kill anyone that said otherwise because the sky is obviously blue?
Sounds like you filled in a lot of the blanks about how clublights feels about oathbreakers to me.
Don't doubt there is more to the story, that's why I haven't made up my mind about the situation.
But I find it extremely troubling that something like that would appear in any kind of government affidavit at all.
I think the free staters are really starting to annoy the govt in NH.
Saw this over on another board, and later a link to the affidavit was posted, referring to abuse / neglect issues with the kids, anger management training that hadn't been attended, etc. While the Oath Keepers bit was out of line, I think it has also been blown way out of proportion, too.

While I'm fairly certain (based off of the other information I've been reading) that the removal of the children from this home was the safest move for the children's safety and well being, the fact remains that the use of this item in the petition/affidavit was specifically used to supplement the strength and justification of/for the petition/affidavit.
“The Division became aware and confirmed that Mr. Irish associated with a militia known as the, “Oath Keepers,” and had purchased several different types of weapons, including a rifle, handgun and taser.”
This sort of comment does not belong here and only seeks to demonize anyone who chooses to exercise their Second Amendment Rights.
Additionally, without showing some cause that membership or participation in the Oath Keepers has led to the suspected abuse of the children, including this in the petition/affidavit only demonizes this individuals exercise of his First Amendment Right to Freedom of Assembly.
I just pray that whatever happens to the adults in this situation that the children aren't unduly affected by this and what will surely come after this.
Just my thoughts.

To each his own. It'd be a pretty damned boring world if we all liked the same things now wouldn't it.
I know that YOU didn't call them a militia, but the story called Oath Keepers (OK) a militia and you (at least the way I read your post) thought they were talknig about PK versus OK.
Alright now, I'm having too much fun in this thread. It's time for me to bail on this one and find another thread to terrorize.

So speaking of Militias, is there even such as a thing as a real function Militia in Colorado? Where would one go to join a group of link minded citizens of Colorado that want to be prepared to defend our Constitution and our State? From what I've seen on the internet, it's always a bunch of freaks...
I kind of started my own Militia with a bunch of friends and family that all train together and would group together in case of emergency, but is there something available on a larger scale in Colorado?
BTW, I think there is much more to the story posted by the OP...
Thanks...

Comment removed.
I hate it when I read what I post and decide it's not appropriate for public viewing...
I know right? It would have been removed anyway, so I just cut to the chase.
