how much for transfers for us who didnt get a free transfer card? What kind of guns?

the Free Transfer is on their business card. I didn't ask what the cost was, I would say competitive as they are running a business. give them a call or stop by. if you're in the 'hood give me a shout

I stopped by there while they were still unloading store stock. Very nice people. Hopefully they will get some .308 surplus at a decent price.

How would you describe this gunstore? Old man hunting store or Mall Ninja Jensens type store?

black rifles, parts acc, bolt action etc. stop in and look for yourself. it's an option for those looking for other shops. in NO. considering there are what 2-3 non chain stores, this is a welcome addition.

I won't EVER shop at Active Arms again. That guy that runs that place is just a blatant asshole for no reason and I refuse to give him my business. He makes the crew at Jensen's seem like Nordstrom's customer service by comparison.

Don't forget to add Jax to your list. I try to buy as much there before I go to any of the big name chains that funnel the profits out of state to corporate headquarters. They have lots of stuff and are quite helpful.

i bought a 642 at Jensesns yesterday. Great service, friendly, etc. Im not sure what everyone wants, but they treat me good.

I get along well with them but the fact is they are not known for warm, friendly customer service especially if you're asking n00b-ish questions. This thread isn't about Jensen's though, theres a whole thread in this section dedicated to Jensen's so let's stay on topic here. This is a thread to discuss Bear Arms in Windsor and I hope to get over there pretty soon so I can report back too. I'm excited there is another shop in my area though. This is always good for the consumer.

I didn't list Jax because i thought the criteria for a chain store was more than one. Well now there is three if you count the Farm and Ranch store. I may be wrong about the definition of a chain store though.

Well, when I think of chain store I think of a national company who's corporate office is across the nation. All the profits leave the state and don't help our economy other than bringing jobs but generally take those jobs from smaller ma and pa shops that were actually bringing more supply to the local economy and keeping the profits here to purchase other goods further helping the local economy. IMO several stores within the state = convenience. I frequent Jax before I visit the other large stores that offer similar products. That's just me.

Bear Arms in Windsor is a good spot. The owners are verrrry great people. They are a new store and trying to build. They understand great customer service. Give them a chance!

They'll answer questions without humiliation whether you're a newbee or not. They can also order just about anything they don't have in stock. Give them a try!

Ok, I just left Bear Arms. I think they got something. Its a nice location. The store is stocked with a good variety of guns. Black rifle friendly. Aks, ARs, hunting, target, they had it all. They were friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. The prices look competitive or a little better than that on what I looked at. No real point in building a black rifle if you can buy one as cheap as they were selling them for. I am sure you will be happy shopping there. Did I mention family friendly? I have 4 boys 6 and under and they didnt seem to mind a bit that they were there with me. Waiting for the background check we talked and the kids ran around. Shop there, buy there, and then go back and buy some more. Its a good shop and a welcome addition to Northern Colorado.

and you didn't stop by the house after??

Here are the non chain stores I know of in NoCo:

Rocky Mountain Shooters Supply, Fort Collins WAY OVER PRICED BUT NICE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH
Jensen Arms, Loveland DONT ASK THEM A QUESTION, THEY DONT HAVE TIME TO ANSWER IT
Bear Arms, Windsor BEST PLACE I HAVE SEEN IN A WHILE
Elk Bomb Shooting Supply, Milliken DIDNT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THEM
Active Arms, Fort Collins TIED WITH JENSEN FOR SHITTIEST ATTITUDE
Colorado Gun Works, Fort Collins GOOD GUY BUT SMALL LIMITED INVENTORY AND KINDA HIGH PRICED LAST TIME I WAS THERE, BEEN A COUPLE YEARS.

I find myself driving to denver for simple cheap stuff if sportsmans wharehouse doesnt have it. But now I will be driving to windsor to Bear arms!

Bear Arms in Windsor is a good shop to deal with, they have a varied selection of weapons at competitive prices.
(o/u , tikka t-3, 700, ak-47, ar-15, Sig, Glock, taurus, smith&wesson Etc. with a few oddball rifles thrown in bullpup ak & a 50 cal upper for AR lower)
They sell new used & consignment weapons as well as optics ammo knifes and high quality axes.
They have a helpful staff that was able to answer all of my questions.

No mall ninjas here, just great sevice (even when really busy)! Ammo prices (9mm & .40 S&W) for WWB is spot on. Hell, I'd pay a buck or two per box more just to starve the pig (Wally-World), but these guys were within ~$0.50 on the 9mm. I'll be back for more!

I went to check out Bear Arms in Windsor yesterday and was very happy. The guys working there are very friendly and helpful. I was helped with what I was looking for even though I did not come strutting in to the shop wearing a badge. They had some really good stuff in stock even with a lot of their stock being at the gun show. I think that they have a great mix of tactical and hunting equipment in stock. The guys working at Bear Arms were down to earth unlike the blow hard, fresh outta the academy want'n to be a cop types over at Jensen's. I am glad that there is a new gun store in the area. I will be dealing with them for all of my firearm needs.

Bare Arms is going to be my new Gun shop. Stopped by last Tuesday and spoke to Gary at length - great guy! Also spoke with 3 of their people - 2 guys and a girl - at Tanner on Saturday and they were very friendly and helpful. People like them really make you want to buy there, even if a bit out of the way for me I really hope they do well.
