I went to the governor's debate tonight in Pueblo and while I am voting for Tancredo (I'll put that out there right now), I have to admit that Hickenlooper had more concete ideas and spoke more in specifics than the other two.
All three are polished speakers and even when heckled (Maes got it a lot!), they all remained calm and finished their points.
Tancredo appeared as though he is fighting a cold and stayed after only a few minutes to speak to supporters before leaving. Hickenlooper seemed to disappear quickly after a couple of TV interviews and Maes was the last to arrive and the last to leave.
I guess at this point in the race with the elections only a couple of weeks away, they didn't feel the need to attack each other, with the exception of Maes giving Tancredo a couple of jabs that got him some negative reactions from the crowd. He quickly stopped that.
I was hoping for more substance, but I guess you can't speak to specifics in the hopes of garnering votes from all walks of life and people.
All spoke of reducing state government, but Tancredo spoke to it from the perspective of reduced government equals more personal freedom and he seemed pretty passionate about it.
Anyway, very interesting and I wished it would have lasted more than 40 minutes.
Oh, Hickenlooper has a HOT, HOT blonde girl who is a staffer/assistant to him. Holy cow! Almost makes-me-want-to-vote-for-him hot!
