Got tickets to tomorrows game and was wondering if they have people wanding at the gates? I don't want to put myself in a weird situation but I hate being in Denver without my protection! I know that conceal carry means just that but I don't want to have to explain to some moron why I'm carrying if found!

Not allowed at Invesco. They pat you down and check any bags at the gate. No exceptions. If they find it, you won't only be explaining. You'll miss out on the game.

Sorry, but don't want you to pay the price for not knowing.

Well that sucks. I almost don't want to go now because I hate not carrying in Denver. Guess I'll sleep on it and see if I feel like going to the game tomorrow. Thanks for the quick response!

I went today and it was a thorough pat down of the entire upper body including around the waist. No way to carry in there unless it's in an ankle holster.

It depends on the event and which gate you enter. I know of poeple that have carried there. ;)

You could probably get away with a NAA mini, but you'd be taking a risk.

That can be a rough area after dark, but there are thousands of witnesses and dozens of police all around there when there is a game, so your likelihood of being subject to a mugging or random street violence is pretty low.

In my opinion, Invesco Field and similar venues have a legitimate interest in banning firearms on their premises. There are thousands of spectators packed in there. Even if you are justified in using lethal force to defend yourself it would be considered reckless endangerment because of all the innocent bystanders. Bad idea to fire off a weapon in a crowd.

My concern would not be at the stadium itself, but in getting to/from the stadium from my car that would be parked several blocks away (or at an RTD park-n-ride). Actual chances of needing a firearm IN the stadium border on zero, in part because of the searches at the gate, but they have no control on the surrounding area. Maybe they should provide secure storage options for CCW holders, like they do at some of the court houses....

...like they do at some of the court houses....

Can you name a single court house that actually does this? I can't. Of the ones I've been to, they have signs that say if you have a firearm you'll be arrested on spot. I took an empty holster through the metal detector the other day, and the dumb ass running it thanked me for not bringing a gun and said, "You'd be surprised how many people think it is okay to bring a gun." I didn't bother telling him that was because the law says it is okay, and they don't expect to be arrested and have the shit kicked out of them by police instead.

You just need to talk to a sheriff's deputy BEFORE you get in the security line. I've never done it with a firearm, but I've done it several times with my pocket knife when going into the secured area at the Taj Mahal here in Golden. They were quite accommodating, and I received no ass beating.....[LOL]

I once had pepper spray taken from me at Denver. Those same chumps (not even cops, just hired, unarmed security) told me that you have to call ahead of time (BS) and take it to a different location. So dumb.
