You must get an SBR license. Otherwisae you are breaking the law.

A tax stamp, not a license. Not being argumentative, just want to make sure the facts are straight for propriety.

i knew the barrel length is an issue, i had seen one before and was wondering about the ability of the average person to own one.

Three options:
1. LEO sign off. Belongs to you directly.
2. Form an LLC. Have to follow the rules of an LLC and file annual meetings (someone clear this up). Belongs to the LLC.
3. Living Revocable(?) Trust. Belongs to the trust, can have beneficiaries inherit it. Make sure you have the correct wording in your trust. ATF can and does do whatever it wants, including going against what it told you in writing in a letter.

If you can own a gun you can own a SBR in Colorado. Or any other NFA stuff. The current processing time on the paperwork is anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months or longer.

There may be some locations where you have to incorporate or form a trust to do it though.

By this he means that those are your only options because the LEO won't sign for it.

Actually you would file a form 1 because you are "making" the firearm. still a 200$ stamp, and there are marking requirments. Better to buy an SBR gun from a dealer, esp. if this is your first time down the NFA road.

I don't know...I'd heard that the paperwork turnaround time is 5-6 weeks now, thinking about how cool it would be to have a 9mm AR SBR :)

THEY ARE COOL, is it worth having all the registration and be on the govt't radar your gun rights go south.

If they come for your guns, give them the bullets first :)

You can have the SBR stuff, I'm saving for something in FULL AUTO.[MG]
I wanted a registered sear or lower so damn bad. I was so freakin close before my wife got cancer. Maybe things will go my way one day. I'm just glad I've haven't had to sell any guns for her recovery.
I've seen them sell for 10 to 15g's, pocket change. [Coffee]

Anyone who tells you that you are on the government's lists or bad side for having to register a tax stamp is full of shit and doesn't have any stamps themselves. Just two years ago the guy at 5280 Armory went on a rant about how he'd never do that and how much hassle it would be. Last time I was in there, lo and behold they are now a Class III dealer.

no one is telling me anything. the less i have to answer to anyone is the better for mind.

i don't take well to being told what i can and can't do.

Yeah, then SBR might not be the road for you. I don't think you can even go across state lines without filing paper work first. I don't think you have to wait for paper work, just send it in.

The hardest part in concealing the AR pistol with your CCW permit if covering the 100 round Beta drum, not the holster fit!
