I have a barely used Vector Yugo M92 AK. It has the underfolding stock and a pinned on fake suppressor. (great sbr gun)
I'm thinking about selling it to get an ak74, ammo and put some money in my pocket... a few pistols are callin my name.
Anyone have any advice or opinions on if I should keep or sell it??
As far as quality its top notch, Im just not sure if I'm going to regret sellin it.
Sell it to me......[Beer]
I've sold two pistols that I've regretted so I usually don't sell unless its something I'm not interested in.

you guys suck! jk Now Ill jus have to spend more money on one more rifle.
From a steady paycheck in the Marines to college life really hurts this gun collecting hobby. I guess i could look into building a romy parts kit, so the mags and ammo would still work. But the ammo for the 74 makes me want one.

Just think of coming from a "poorish" farming family to a Masters degree in college thanks to student loans and now working at almost minimum wage job and I hear your sentiments on your thoughts about hurting on the gun collecting hobby, lol! But, we'll make it work.
Bottom line: Keep your guns and buy more!
Admenduem: I shoot all my guns though. No safe queens... I've never understood collecting 600 guns but only shooting three.... unless they are an investment of some sort.

I'll offer a different perspective... the M92 is a "Krinkov" type configuration, especially SBR'd... they are REALLY hot on the market right now... I'm not sure they'll keep this level of value, I just saw parts that were associated with a Krink go for way beyond top dollar (just a .223 AK bolt, went for $121, because other auctions by the same seller, he was parting out a SLR-106 "Krink" custom)
based on BigBear & jtwo's comments (which I agree with), if you can't shoot them, they're an investment- we can't help you with that decision- just decide if this gun is an investment, or a shooter... if you WANT it to be a shooter, then switching it for a lower priced model that shoots lower priced ammo makes A LOT of sense...
you've got to decide, do you want shoot, or do you want an investment?
I've shot enough AKs to know the M92 is an awesome model, but that you can't be accurate with any underfolder... and that any 5.45 AK74 is a joy to shoot- they're more accurate than the 7.62x39 models in general, and the ammo price is very attractive- if you're not into reloading, either one offers reasonable ammo price, but 5.45 gets down around 12.5 cents per round! you can't touch that with pistol ammo unless you reload.
I hope I haven't confused you more, I just thought I'd offer a perspective of someone who has been involved with building several AKs from parts kits... personally, I wouldn't buy an M92 right now- because >I< think they're overvalued in the market right now... you can get much for it than I can pay for one... I built a pistol from Romy parts instead, I could afford it..

Thanks for the advice guys, especialy 68charger.
I think Ill keep it. In 2002 I bought a SAR1 for $290 dollars and now they are selling for $500-600. It seems like i should buy 5-10 cheaper ak47-74's and watch their values increase. I know I need a shooter but not sure if I can make the M92 the gun I need it to be.... When I first got it I said to myself " I need to bang it up and scratch it around to keep me from ever selling it" ... apparently I didnt do a good job of that.

Sell your m92 and with the proceeds get a tula aks-74u kit and a nodak receiver then also get an sbr stamp for it and build it at a build party with help.
For what you should be able to get out of your m92 you should be able to do that. That's if you want to go in that direction. Otherwise I would think it's pretty hard to beat apex's 210 dollar ak-74 kit with a us barrel. I would stay away from the cheaper guns unless you find a screaming deal. If you want to go cheaper go with a 99 dollar romy g kit from cfs a tapco flat and a us barrel from arms of america 70 bucks for about 250 you can build a romy 7.62x39 including compliance parts if you know where to shop ;)
Just my 2 cents
