How can that be? I thought you were considerably younger than me, but this ^^ info implies you are at least my age.

You must just hold your age better than I do [/blatant @$$ kissing]

I was a sophomore in High School in California, and all I was thinking about was my motorcycle and girls. (Not necessarily in that order!) At the time I was still sure I wasn't going into the military under any circumstance. Yeah, and almost 24 years later...[Abused]

Sometimes it does not seem that long ago. I was 21 and tired of being a line wrench at a Lyman Slack Chevrolet in Portland. So on August 14th 1980 I got on a plane to Ft lost in the woods.

12 years later they offered me $40,000 not to reenlist and a job as a civilian. Now, just over 30 years after it started I have a few more to go. :)

I was "sweating bullets" because Ronald Reagan was President, Ed Meese was Sec. of State, and William Reinquest was a Supreme Court Justice!
I hated Meese's to piece's!

"There you go again"...... Quote from Pres. Reagan

My mistake: Reinquest was confirmed during the Nixon Administration.

"...on my way to Ft. Jackson S.C.

I was ~4 months behind you only headed to Ft Dix (<-- to this day I'm still pullin' sand outta my ass from that place).

ETS'd in 88'...time fly's eh? Served under the Reagan Administration, couldn't imagine doing so under Klinton or this rat-fuck socialist regime of today (greatly respect those that do though, any branch).

Funny how you remember those dates the rest of your life [ROFL1] I remember sitting at the USO in Louisville KY at 10:30 pm on June 3rd '03 when the first drill came in to get us on the bus to go to Knox. Then 2003/09/28 when I got on the plane at the same airport to leave Knox.

I was 7 years old in 83.

My Father in law is currently at Knox. Supposedly 'posed to be coming to Carson, but we'll see. They're threatening to kick him out, lol, career soilder (I think almost 30 years), tank commander, seen more tours (frontlines stuff too) then I can name, highest enlistesd rank (SGM, E9 I believe) etc.

It'll be great if he does come to Carson, lots of range time!!!

1983- Hair down to the middle of my back, working part time at a machine shop and chasing wrecks driving a tow truck (fun way to make some money and not have a job). First date with the wife was August 19th, went and saw "Purple Rain"(Ick- but it was worth it) here we are 28 years later and married to her for 24!

Rejoice in thy youth, for it is fleeting........
