Hey guys
I've got this MOE Lower build kit (http://palmettostatearmory.com/598.php) on it's way for my first AR build. Does anybody have any personal experience with the DD LPK? Pros? Cons? It seemed like a good fit for a noob like me.
Thanks.

I really like DD stuff. I have built at least a few AR's with it.

I don't have any experience with these, but I've been eyeing them for a while myself. I plan to pick one up (order it) next payday.
On a side note, Palmetto's $70 stripped lower has been out of stock since the middle of this past week. I called them and they told me they plan to get more around the 8th or 9th of Dec and say that they expect the $70 introductory price will probably last until the end of Dec.

I've talked to a couple people that had nothing but good things to say about the DD LPKs. I've fired my new build once and it functioned flawlessly.
I just assembled pretty much the same thing on a PSA lower...my first one. My ONLY problem (aside from the apparently normal issues of springs and detents going flying) was that the bolt catch roll pin was too tight...no space to compress when inserting, and it actually bent (and dinged my lower a little, trying to use the pliers technique and, due to all the force being applied, chewed through 4 layers of electrical tape).
Knowing what to look for, I got a new roll pin at the hardware store and it went in with no problem.

I'd be interested if it didn't cost me am extra $50 to take possession of it. Group buy anyone?

I remember reading somewhere that sometimes anodize gets a little "heavy" in some of the holes making it a tight fit.

Yes, heavy anodize.. Well thats what appeared to me when I purchased a DD stripped lower and their parts kit. I installed the standard pistol grip from the kit but I good not slide it on very easily at all. It began scraping the lower receiver finish. I replaced it with a Miad grip then the screw was next.. The entire lower build was fine except for the grip and screw install. The screw did fit but after three turns of the screwdriver it was so tight it would go no further. I tried other grip screws from my LMT and Colt but had the same issue.
I looked at the threads of the screw and I could see the black anodize all over it. So I tried again but instead I worked it in then out and continued this process unitl it was completely in. The lower works great!

Just ordered the Palmetto State Armory MOE Lower Parts Kit (http://palmettostatearmory.com/1361.php)today for the build my son and I are doing for his first AR.
While it's not the DD LPK, I think it'll work out well enough for him. I just hope it comes with instructions for installing of of that stuff.

It's a pretty killer deal IMO.
Mine did not come with instructions. I looked up a video on YouTube and just followed along. This dude said he had put these together for years or something like that. He had his own system but I felt he made some tasks very hard for himself. Anyway, I ended up doing the whole thing at my desk and it was relatively painless. A set of punches came in very handy. The only tool I didn't have that would've made the build wayyyy easier was a vise.
