View Full Version : Charlie Chaplain Time Traveler?

I guess there is a scene in The Circus where a person walks by looking like he/she is talking on a cell phone. There is a video in the article. I haven't watched it yet.
Maybe one of these? (http://www.hearingaidmuseum.com/gallery/Non-Electric/EarTrumpets/Short%20Trumpets/info/largereartrumpet.htm)
I doubt we're beaming back cell towers as well!
One has to hope if we go back in time its cooler than looking lost in old L.A.
I mean, who passes up Jesus and dinosaurs, to wander around L.A.?! I don't even want to go to L.A. now and I don't have the freaking Gettysburg Address on my travel list as an option, can't swing by and watch Hancock go to town with a feather either, but I'm still not going to L.A.!
That's what I was thinking. Even in the impossible case that it was actually a person on a cell phone; who in the hell would they be talking to?
If I could go back in time, I'd visit, and fight, myself several times through out my life, just for the confidence and experience boost it would provide.

Or find yourself on a quick trip to a mental hospital! I don't know if I could deal with myself!
Future Stuart breaks into Present Stuart's place, forgetting he used to be into protecting himself. Present Stuart then kills Future Stuart in self defense. You know how you die! and you just commited future suicide?
No Thanks!
saw this earlier, it was pretty trippy.
I heard it has been debunked as a hearing aid.
I laughed when I heard about this.
Technology progresses, but people are still dumb.

I Dont know what the hell it is, but it is odd that she is yammering away to someone not there while holding something in her hand (Visible at ~4:50-5:10)
is it a communication device to the Mothership? I dunno.
Look at the shadows. The sun would have been in her/his left eye. The hand looks to be blocking the sun (or those damn 1920s paparazzi). A small black wallet or cigarette case in the hand.
Can't people just talk to them selves anymore? Besides, who would she be talking to? [Phone]

maybe she was just a crackhead (even though crack really wasn't around yet), or crazy and talking to herself
No wonder they launched prohibition.

I ceratinly can't buy that she/he is a time traveler, but I am curious now as to what it is?
I'm going with she wanted to keep her face off camera BECAUSE, she is clearly talking into a throat mike. She's probably a SEAL who went back in time to do battle for the League of Nations!

Good Point! After having read almost all of the Rogue Warrior books I completely believe that. I am pretty sure that time travel is exclusively used by Seal Six and Delta. But the main issue is once they are back in time finding plutonium to power their Delorian to get up to 88 MPH. As pointed out in another thread, they could wait until a freak lightening storm comes through to so they can get the required 1.21 giggawatts.
Have I taken this thread to a whole new realm?

Everyone knows He's Oliver Stone's location scout / fact checker. He's just come from Dallas and is telling Oliver there wasn't anyone on the Grassy Knoll (wink), Oswald really did act alone, but don't let that get in the way of a good story, and by the way, this guy in the mustache is British, and this aint Austria. You sure this guy's Hitler?..."
Anyone else find if funny that it is described as a "small, black device" when you can't see anything and the whole thing was shot in Black and White film?

actually you sort of can see the edge of a black object (not a shade of Gray) in her hand and it has been slowed and zoomed.
