COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A Colorado Springs homeowner found a cache of guns behind his home late Thursday afternoon. The guns were found in the 600 block of Santa Fe Street, police said.
At least three rifles, two shotgun and handguns and 2 magazines of ammunition were found, police said. They were found before 5 p.m. Thursday.
The ATF confirmed Thursday's discovery is not related to guns stolen Oct. 19 from Cripple Creek.

So... anyone missing anything?

I personally know someone who found a small cache of guns when he was demoing a house that was just bought. They are all for sale and some pretty nice guns. Like $4,000 Browning over under shotgun for example. Well, it would be that much, except it has a rust spot on the barrel.

Anyway, there is this terribly nice M1 Carbine that I'm trying to work towards.

my bro in law drives for RTD, At then end of his shift while cleaning the bus he found a back pack full of guns,
A young banger type dude rode into the garage on his bicycle looking for his back pack. My brother in law went to the supervisors office to call the police and the lil banger was pounding trying to get in the office all while pd was in route.
He skipped out befor they got there so they just took the guns and left, he was worried the guy would remember him but nothing ever came from it

Oh no folks, I didn't see this thread and was just about to post about it after hearing the story on Colo Spr ABC affiliate KRDO because this was described (let's see if you can pick out the anti-gun agenda here) as "A huge cache of weapons and a large amount of ammunition".

Let's see:
three rifles, two shotguns and handguns and 2 magazines of ammunition

?? That's a "huge cache" of firearms and a "large amount of ammo"?

I guess that would have put me in the category of being my own army with the firearms I had before losing them all in that tragic boating accident.

None of them were reported...see article.

That's what I'm thinking. Only problem, if you ever found yourself in a situation where the cops were looking up SN for some reason and they found it to be stolen. "Bought it at a gun show a few years ago".

This is a weapons cache... The stuff they are talking about in this article doesn't even qualify as an average conservative's privately owned collection.

Hmm ... I wonder if one of the handguns was a Steyr S40 (serial no. 022652)?

While I can't imagine it happening very often at all, I can only assume that anyone with true Colorado values (ie: not Kalifornia values) wouldn't say one word about what they found on their own property unless it was a body or something of that nature.

I see what you did there. Niiiiice.

While digging in my grand father backyard somewhere in Europe I found a MG 42, a luger and ppsh.... I can make sense of the MG and the luger, but the ppsh was a mystery. Now, bear in mind, they spend spend 40 years in a pretty acid soil, but after a good sand blasting what was left of the metal made for some nice.... Paperweight!

My metal detector was still beeping hard, but I stopped digging when my grand father told me there was a chance that a couple of german soldier may have been buried there.... [M2]

I think we should send the reporter an email noting that a few guns and ammo hardly qualify as a cache. And that most of our women had better collections of guns before we met them.
