Looking for some suggestions on places to shoot in the National Forests ...

I prefer to avoid Lefthand Canyon, and since the north site is now closed I'm trying to find some other options that are still relatively close to Boulder county.

Seems like there "should" be someplace between Lyons and Estes Park ... or, something.

Can anyone recommend some alternatives ?

Given that I live a bit South of the area you're asking about I can;t reall offer a suggestion, but welcome to the site. Why don't you come and start an intro thread in the New Member Sign In (http://co-ar15.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=97) forum...

Once folks "get to know you" from an intro thread they are typically more interested in responding to requests for information.

What Ginsue said..[Awesom]

As for your question; Last I knew, more or less everything along 7 between Lyons and EP was "closed" for "study". And, the "study" was open ended so no telling when (or if) it will reopen..

The only alternatives I can think of depending on where you are, would be Pawnee, or down around Mt. Evans.

Thanks for the input, and for the welcome.

I was actually registered here once before, however, I only posted a few times (and that was quite a few years ago, IIRC).

Anyway, as it turns out my membership info here ended up being lost somewhere along the way, so Roger basically advised me to simply re-register.

That said, I'll be glad to start a thread in the new members forum in order to get "reacquainted". Looking forward to spending more time here in the future.

Thanks again!
