Aimpoint ignorant here, can't take anymore research or I'm never going to buy anything. [Bang] I need you seasoned AR pros to just tell me what the hell I need to do please.

Option 1: COMPM3
Option 2: COMPM2
Option 3: MICRO T-1 w/ LaRue mount

Either of these choices will exceed my needs, experience level and capabilities but...this is a one-time purchase for the long-haul and I want to get it right (I just need to get something then get to practicing).

Here's my simple requirements (note: I have no easy option to "shoot and compare" so I'll take any help I can get buying "blind");

Use: Primarily target (practice) and will be installed on my home/property defense rifle, 25 to 100 yards would be typical-use but I would like to handle longer ranges on occasion.

Weapon: Stock Colt 6920

I'm not price sensitive but I don't necessarily need the latest-n-greatest either, I just want a rock-solid and simple-to-use Aimpoint. I'm leaning towards the M2, good call? If yes, what mounting system would serve me best?

Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the Primary Arms Aimpoint clones ? Several members here have them and suggested I try one when I was looking. Reviews on AR15 are very good and buyers seemed pleased. JMHO

Don't be ignorant, get an Eotech!

Hey, someone had to say it, geesh.

M2 with laRue mounts is my vote...

But I don't have an AR nor optics so.... [Swim]

M2 is great... eotech xps is better!

If you are not gonna use NVD, none of those but ML3 ;) You can have it with 2 moa dot for rifle and battery life is way better than M2/ML2.
I am not a fan of non-magnifying sight on a rifle, but would definitely pick 2 moa Aimpoint before Eotech.

Please, do not put Chinese crap (like PA) on top of a gun you may use for self defense.

Thanks fellas, appreciate the input so far. Not interested in any EOTech's or clones though, Aimpoint only.

Good choice. There is a reason Aimpoints are so popular.

I have two micros (and a few comp M4s) and they seem pretty solid so far.

Of the scopes you listed, the Micro would be my choice. The mount is up to you, but Mark LaRue is a great guy and his gear is top notch.

I was checking out mounts for the T-1 / H-1 on the LaRue website and I didn't see any that were "see through" mounts. Do you have either of your micros on an AR? What mount are you using? Thanks.

Nevermind. I was talking with a friend who said that you just look at the iron sights through the Aimpoint.
