Started loading .223's this weekend, and gobbled through two pounds of Varget in about 600 rounds (guesstimate). Dang, wasn't expecting that! That was at 25.6gr. per round, w/ standard 55gr. FMJBT's.

I wanted to pick up some more Varget on the way home, but I couldn't think of any place between downtown Denver and Parker where I could get some at a civilized price. Any tips? Sportsman's Warehouse in Thornton is where I usually go, but it's a long drive out of my way.

Thanks! They sure look perty anyway.....(no raggin' about my pink blankie....)

cleanest brass ever, new or lemi shine?

Processed once-fired 5.56 brass from Scharch, http://www.scharch.com/ I finished them up by tumbling after loading in corncob & NuFinish car polish to clean the sizing lube off. But they were perty when I got them.

scharch is good stuff most of my 5.56 brass is from them its on its third reload. some on its 4th.

As fare as powder it depends how much you are looking for i saw a few 8lb kegs of it at the last tanner gun show when i was home for around i think 150. up here in NE they are running around 145 plus tax i usually buy kegs as it goes quick plus you save a little more when you buy in bulk.

if you need it sooner check with sportsman, bass pro,in 1 pound amounts they might have some bulk stuff to never hurts to ask!

As fast as I chugged through 2 lbs. of it, I might as well get an 8 lb. jug. I just hate to order it and pay the shipping and hazmat fee too. I was just hoping somebody knew of a place somewhere on the trail between downtown and Parker that stocks reloading supplies.

yeah i dont order powder/primers unless its a bulk order with enough people to split the shipping and fees meaning 48 pounds at once which is the limit i believe per hazmat fee.

hopfully someone will chime in with a place! the next gun show is this weekend actually i bet you could find a keg there only thing is the 7 dollar entry fee added to the price and the gas to get there!

Not sure if he still does, but the gentleman from Dad's wholesale will meet you in Parker with anything you purchase over the phone...I bought Powder/Primers/Brass this way and he and his prices were great...This was probably a year ago...

+1 for Dad's
Worth a call.
I just got into reloading, and that is where I got my powder/primers.

Someone wanna post up the contact info for Dad's, I could use it please. Also last time I was in at Green Mountain Guns they had a couple kegs of varget and some single pounders also, give them a call, if they have it they will tell you and usually put it aside.

Good info, thanks! I'll check Dad's out. I was hoping to find a place that I can pop into on my daily commute between Parker and downtown. All the places I know of are all far off my route.
