What a loss 16 yrs. old !!!!
Very sad, happens much too often.
I've had a lot of close calls in my 54 years, but the three most recent ones really made me think. None were my fault, it was other drivers and very close near-misses, but any of them could have snuffed me out instantly like a bug. And we're raising a grandson who turns 14 soon, so we'll be dealing with a teenage driver in a couple of years.

I guess I am lucky in that respect. I have been run into 3 times in the last 10 years. I have never had an accident on the street that was my fault in 36 years of driving.
I grew up in racing and started when I was 12. In the old days cars let you know with plenty of warning when the limits were being reached. Many of the newer cars give one a safe and secure feeling up to the limit and after that all bets are off. My 06 Grand Prix GT is that way and it has taken some time to understand its habits.
For the average driver it can bite one in the butt. To a 16yo that thinks he is bulletproof many of the newer cars are nothing more than a death trap.
