View Full Version : AR question
So the first step is admitting it. I don't own an AR. But a guy on another fourm wants to trade me a complete DPMS lower half with a nice Command Arms collapsible stock. The lower is all new with the exception of the buffer he would trade the lower plus $150 cash
For my Glock19 what do you guys think

I think I'd have to get $200, maybe a bit more depending on how many mags or other items go with the 19 unless the 19 is beat (I'm guessing it's not).
I think a complete lower with dpms parts is worth $250 to $350 retail. Its all about trade value.
No its pretty much brand new. 250 ends down the pipe 5 Glock hi cap mags nott Korean crap. And 3rd gen
I wouldn't do it. You could buy a complete Smith & Wesson M&P-15 for the value of that Glock and a couple hundred dollars.

I think you could hook up a nice complete lower with the stock you like for $300 pretty easily, so if you think your pistol is worth $450 or less go for it.
A little perspective...... http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/item/W.A.S.P.-Bargain-Bin-16-inch-M4-1402 Good Luck.

Definitely a good deal........for him. You can get a Spikes Tactical lower for $240. complete. Even used your gun is worth $400. not including all the mags.

If he wants to man up and throw in a complete upper, then it's a good deal
The Glocks package is worth around $550. That will get you a pretty squared away upper and the lower can be put together as noted for around $250 -$300.
Don't do the trade, not even at all. Not to mention DPMS isn't exactly top shelf, more like happy hour well booze at applebees
I didn't want to say that and offend any DPMS owners but since you let the cat out of the bag, I agree.

You know you can pick up a colt A2 kit from Sarco (yeah, I know, some people hate them). That has everything except the lower receiver for like 475 right? Then snag a decent lower for 100 and youre good to go.

I don't quit understand what everyone has against DPMS.
They aren't the Cadillac of the AR World... more like the Truck.
They work and for the price, they work well.
Its a Lower... it either fits or it doesn't.
quite unlike Olympic.
Haven't broken mine yet.

I agree the majority of them work. I don't want to put down anybodies weapon, especially one that works fine for them. I do like their .308s.

It's just the way it is. DPMS is not top shelf, but they're OK. Plenty of others the same - Superior, Kaiser, and so on. I don't have a DPMS but I do have a Superior and a Kaiser. The Superior has the rear takedown pin retainer hole bored at an angle, so I had to use a KNS push-release pin but other than that it works just fine.
