Was at the range the other day chatting with a guy I met there, comparing AR's and what not, and I noticed he was using dry lube on his rifle to lube. He got to telling me how he swears by it and has never had a failure. According to him he only cleans it and re-lubes it every 1000rds or so.
Anyone else have experience with it? I know Moly Lube is good in High Temp, Metal to Metal Applications, just never thought about using in on my rifle.

I see where it would be beneficial in a dry, dusty environment (insert eastern sh!t hole here) where a wet lube could attract dust/debris.
Otherwise I am a firm believer in a synthetic wet lube. You need the film viscosity of a wet lube to prevent metal to metal contact. You won't get that from a dry lube IMHO....
I use copious quantities of "Old Bull" grease in my AR's, the oldest one will run forever with light oil but it's loose, the new ones need wet stuff to run a couple hundred.
I can't see a dry lube working all that good to prevent wear. We're not in the sandbox here so generally dust and debris aren't a huge problem.
