So I think for now I can only have one. Currently have the 19. Do I sell it for a G34 or just save for a 34. Already have a 26 to carry so not too concerned about that. I really want to get into competition and thinking that the 34 could serve two purposes, HD and Comp, maybe even carry when its real cold.
Any input is great if you have had experiences with either.
The 34 is great and all. However, keep the 19.
Just save up for the 34 if you really want one.
I shot the 34 for several years in competition, and carried the 19. In my judgment, in all the years I have been carrying, the 19 was the best carry gun I ever owned for every day (I have switched over to the M+P platform now). I don't appreciate the mini-pistols very much, because in both competition and if the shtf I want to have a full and steady grip. If it were me, I would sell the 26, carry the 19, and buy the 34 if you are serious about competing for a number of years (the longer you compete, the more it makes a 34 investment worthwhile). Otherwise, the first competitive match I ever shot in my life I scored most accurate shooter of the night competing against very good competition with the 19, so that gun is certainly usable for competition too. And competing with your carry gun is the absolute best training you could ever do. I don't think you would want to carry the 34, unless you are a huge guy. It is a pretty large gun to conceal and draw. And the ballistics aren't substantially enough different to make it worthwhile in my judgment. Good luck with your decision!

Does the G34 come standard with Adj sights and extended slide release? Haven't had time to check one out yet. But I think I will have one soon.

A little delayed here, but:
I own both - the G34's edge is not that great over the 19. Keep practicing until you see signs that your equipment is limiting you, then buy the 34.
The 19 is such a versatile and practical platform - it pays to keep it around.
The 34 does come with the extended slide release and shitty glock adjustable sights.

While i've never shot a 34, this seems like a very good post. I can't imagine at my current skill level, that a 34 would do anything for me that my 19 doesn't already do. Now to the OP, maybe your skill level is good enough to warrant the 34 purchase.

You can get the extended slid release from Brownells the Glock part number is 07496, it is very easy to install I did this to my G17 I also did a extended mag release, very easy as well great upgrades. I had a 19 for a while and I sold it, I wish I hadn't now that I have my CCW permit. I would keep it and save.
Keep the G19. For me, it's the perfect balance of being shootable and concealable. I don't own a G34, but love my G17s.

Baaaaah! None of the above. The S&W M&P series of pistols is an improvement in every way to the Glockenspiel. IMHO My 9mm Pro Series will shoot rings around any glock I've ever owned.[Twist]

Hmmm, not so sure about the shit-tastic finish they use on the M&Ps, never seen a Glock rust from normal use...
Keep the 19!!! Buy a 34!!! You can never have enough guns anyway. I've got a 35 (the 34's 40 cal. brother) and the longer sight radius makes a big difference for me. I also have a work issued 22 & I've shot both it and the 19 down at the Pueblo steel matches and without a doubt prefer the 35 over the 19 & 22 for that situation.

I agree with what's been said already, keep the 19. But if you have the money, the 34 would definitely be worth buying, IMO. I'm not a great shot, but I was very pleased with the results shooting a 35.
Not familiar with M&P's.

Finish is crap and after ripping off Glock (aka Sigma) you would think S&W would get something right. But alas I think in my own humble opinion S&W should just stick with wheel guns, which BTW the bodygaurds are having issues too. Ohh and just to rant a little bit, S&W Customer service Sucks ass. But S&W is much better than Glock....LMAO.

Wow this thread is still going? This was when I was a Glock noob. Still have a 19 and I will get a 34gen4. I really want a gen 1 Glock. And smith is gay, defiantly should stick to wheel guns. They got it right. and glock got autos right.

Took me a while to warm up to Glocks, but I have a G20 Gen 3 and a G17 Gen 2, both suitably massaged...and I love 'em. I don't, however, like the trigger on the M&P's nearly as well.
Next will be a G34, to be tweaked like the others. Sights, decalgrips, 3.5 disconnector, a few other bits...and then a G19, and then a G30...and maybe a 21 in there, although with two XD 45's, I really don't know why...
The G30 is a good sub 45 acp, use to carry one for a long time. Just got a g38 and use to have the g39. Have you tried the 45 GAP? I would love a g34 just for "Fun" shooting like competitions and such.

Seriously!![ROFL1]
I own the Glock 17,19,26,and the 34. Had a M&P, just consider the initials as Multiple cobbled Pieces.
