any ideas, this a hoax, or somebody mistaking a contrail for a missile launch?
Obviously it was a missile obtained from a Texas gun show, then fired from Mexico.
If our military wasn't involved, we'd be at Defcon 1, or Terror Alert Status Red, or whatever. The fact no one is alarmed means, I'll bet, that they know exactly what happened.

That's what I was thinking. The military is all, "Oh that wasn't us, but don't worry about it. We're sure it's nothing." Okay military. ;)

Awnod knows new movie Terminator 15.
I did catch that they talked about the launch of a "Skynet satellite"
Too bad it didn't get a little closer to LA... [Coffee]

Google ABL and see what comes up.
I figured it was something like that
Chris Knight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000174/): As you know, Mitch and I were working on the cyanide system. Well, earlier today it ate itself. But, these little set-backs are just what we need to take a giant step forward. Right, Kent? Needless to say, I was a little despondent about the melt down, but then, in the midst of my preparations for hari kiri, it came to me. It is possible to synthesize excited bromide in an argon matrix. Yes, it's an excimer frozen in its excited state.
Bodie (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0842476/): Th... That's impossible.
Chris Knight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000174/): It's a chemical laser but in solid, not gaseous, form. Put simply, in deference to you, Kent, it's like lasing a stick of dynamite. As soon as we apply a field, we couple to a state, it is radiatively coupled to the ground state. I figure we can extract at least ten to the twenty-first photons per cubic centimeter which will give one kilojoule per cubic centimeter at 600 nanometers, or, one megajoule per liter.
oh and if we're talking about real genius I have to add this, because it's a moral imperative:
Mitch (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0418909/): What are you doing?
Chris Knight (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000174/): Self-realization. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"

Since when do lasers give off a contrail or plume signatures? Doesn't seem to make sense of a ABL unless it was an ABL target drone.
There are some tin foil hats calling it a chemtrail. Lots of nut jobs showing planes going by at high altitude and they think they are chemtrails and not contrails. Somebody needs to teach them physics to understand that planes at altitude can give off contrails.
I think it is just a contrail after watching the videos.
EDIT: Just saw the LA news video.. very different than the one I first saw. Definitely a missile. I saw an interview with an analyst that thinks it was a sub launch to show power to Korea that we have capabilities in the Pacific. There has never been a submersed sub launch of a ICBM in the Pacific before now??

oh come on- that plume/contrail looked nothing like a laser [ROFL1]
maybe a re-schedule after this?

bingo!

Those chemtrail believers are just like 9/11 truthers, i.e. completely fucking willfully ignorant idiots.

completely fucking willfully ignorant idiots.
Well, ignorance is bliss. By remaining ignorant they can continue to press their claims and remain blissful.
Meanwhile, life goes on, usually right around/past them....

I have to say the most disturbing thing in the news was the reply that said "There is no danger to the homeland" I may be old but there are a few words and how you say them that just send chills up my spine.

We have a ICBM launch off the coast of the US and we don't know about it? Ummm.. no
Some sailor dropped his coffee on the console.. "Did I do that?" Umm no... The contrail is to big at the base. Plane coming towards camera.

as I eluded to in my original post, this is a possibility, and this explanation follows Occam's razor better than any other explanation.
I know I've seen contrails that are wider the further they are away from the plane... and the "glow" from the engine could be a reflection off the plane itself. In the footage it's difficult to determine the direction of the "missile" absolutely.
I don't have the answer, the reactions to the story are interesting- to say the least.

i twas definitely a missle or a rocket.
I have seen many a contrails from jets, tankers, airliners, heavy cargo etc etc. nothing looks like that. it was definitely at a very sharp angle, something that only maybe a fighter jet could achieve, and that is questionable. the size of the contrail is much too large to be from a fighter so there goes that idea.
I would guess it was from a navy ship. intercontinental missle and drop it off the coast of asia, or maybe send it straight to Afghanistan.
either way the show/spectacle was a giant waste of $$ unless it was sent with a love letter to osama bin laden and blew him and the 40 she-male virgins that fucker thought he was getting straight to some unknown dimension of hell!
either we were testing something, or china or russia was flexing.
if the latter is the case then nothing will be done.
obama will handle any new foreign policy issues like clinton did.
do nothing, hope it goes away, if it is politically advantageous shoot a couple of tomahawks at it, otherwise retreat.
our enemies will be emboldened and things will get worse for us down the line.
Speaking of contrails...the other day while driving North on I-25, we saw a weird...void in the sky. It was like the opposite of a contrail. We actually took a picture of it. I'll have to post it up. Later, I noticed that looking out of the other side of the car, was an old (really spread out) contrail. I couldn't look straight up and see if they met though. Even if they did, it seemed weird to me that a void would be directly connected to a contrail as faded as the one I was looking at. Anyone ever seen anything like that?
Not enough tinfoil in here.. Obviously, it is an aborted probe from Alpha Centuri..

fine by me, those green skinned alien dancer girls are hot
It is an Estes rocket, some rich kid on a yacht was working on a corporate takeover and now Obama thinks Dick Cheney is going to run a coup.
9/11 truthers, chem-trails, global warming, flying rods, all of these are the property of idiots, morons and liberal dipshits (redundant).

Is there footage the shows the complete flight path?
did this thing leave the atmosphere?
if not then maybe some astronaut farmer.
if it did then that would be much higher dollar engineering, let the conspiracy theories fly
