Pretty much a different shaped, more rapily soggifying version of Captain Crunch...
Well, I was okay, until my mother went on the health kick..
She started making "granola"
[Rant2]
Apple Jacks and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

My parents were hippies, so I didn't get any fun cereals until jr high school. We didn't have soda, carob instead of chocolate, etc.

Cheerios then, with either brown sugar or honey, and now Honeynut Cheerios
BUT my all time favorite breakfast was a 3 layer strawberry short cake,8"x12" with fresh cream. We picked the strawberrys wild,,made jams too.
The honey, milk, and cream came fom my uncles dairy ranch.
He keep the bee hives too.

Pettijohn (very similar to OatMeal but much more coarse) This was of course well over 65 years ago and long before all that sugar coated crap came about.
I never had one favorite.
but I do miss these

I never had one favorite.
^This^ I like pretty much all cereals. The innards need a good scrubbin' now and then. But I hated Grape Nuts, still won't eat that shit. The really super-sweet and oddball kiddie cereals like Lucky Charms don't trip my trigger much either. Marshmallows and chocolate? In cereals? Meh.
I had a big bowl o' Cheerios this morning, just like a good laxative!
THEY"RRRRRREEEEEEEE GGGGRRREEEEAAAAATTTTTT!!!!!
just had some today[Pepsi]
I do have a favorite now, frosted mini wheats.

Toss up between these two for me. I loved them both.
Quick cereal story . . . . Anybody remember E.T. (the movie) cereal? I was probably 7 and spent the night at a friends house. I woke up before him and fixed myself a big ass bowl of E.T. cereal. I got to the end of the bowl where there was mostly milk. I noticed the last bits of cereal looked odd. And it looked odd because it was mostly dead meal worms or something like that. Never ate that shit again.

Dad was a cowboy, didn't have any of that sugary crap in the house. I grew up loving Raisin Bran, All Bran with three spoons of sugar, or Grape nuts next on the list.

When I was a kid Dad always had Grape Nuts and Shredded Wheat. I like the frosted Mini Wheats, but I just can't do the others. I do like the Reese's Puffs now, too...

A woman in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia tried to sue them claiming that for years she had been tricked into thinking that she was eating "real" fruit..........
And to answer your question they are sprayed with a strawberry flavored concoction that back then was just the ticket. I grew up on the regular and I was about 9-10 when these came along. ;)

I bet that was a real kick in the 'crunch berries'...

I want a "Nerd Gate."
I remember always begging for Cookie Crisp.
I'm glad no one has said that Life cereal was their favorite. All my cousins loved that shit. My fiance likes that crap too. Speaking of her, I polled her on this and she said, "Frosted Flakes, and it still is."

Just remembered my favourite breakfast as a kid: Rice, butter and sugar sprinkled on it. That was my "fun" breakfast, until I discovered the awesomeness of cinnamon toast crunch
This thread has me really wondering what the average age the members here are. Has there been an age survey? I haven't found one.
My favorite breakfast cereal was, and still is, plain ol' UNcooked raw oatmeal with milk and a spoonful of sugar or honey when Dad was raising bees. There's nothing sweeter than fresh bee vomit with little pieces of wax mixed in.

I think I remember someone doing one months ago, had a poll on it. Somebody complained about the age brackets, 'cuz somebody broke out the age groups until they got to about 40......
I hardly know any Spanish, but I would have said, "Tengo doble anos."
EDIT: yeah I think it was Bear and his age brackets were like
18-19
19-21
25-37
40-Old as shit

It depends on what you're saying. I chose to say, "I have twice as many years."
If I use the age brackets above, I would fit in somewhere after the "t."
Dave
I'll take two tacos and a bean burrito, por favor.

That's some classic ish right there! Waaay before my time... ...alright, maybe just way before. I also remember choosing the cereal I wanted based on how bad ass the toy was that came inside it. Now you have to send in 25 upc codes and your pinky finger to get the damn toy, It must suck to be a kid these days.

Thanks. Back on topic, I remember people hating Grape Nuts ever since I can remember knowing what cereal was.

My dad LOVED Grape Nuts...
Like eating bb's with some sugar...
But I got used to it... you just gotta let them 'settle' a bit till they get soggy.
