So I'm planning on moving up to Oregon in a little over a year, and I'm wondering if anyone on here has lived there and has any experience with their concealed handgun licenses (CHL). I know that Oregon doesn't honour any other state's CCWs, so I'll have to get a new one when I move up there.

Looks like it's cheap and easy....

Appreciate the links, and yeah, I'm familiar with both of those resources. Just curious if anyone on here has any experience with the process up there. [Beer]

I lived in Oregon for three years, and had their concealed carry permit. It was a piece of cake if I remember right, just filled out the app and gave them fingerprints and pictures. I lived in Jackson County. They will cancel your permit if you move out of state, at least they did mine.

Thanks for the reply. Seems like from what I've read that their permit is pretty easy to get

It wasn't when I got mine...

Yeah, they require a class for it, just like here. The fees for most counties I've seen up there are $65, and the wait period is 45 days

I guess times have changed. Of coarse maybe it's gotten better, perhaps they're a little more carefull with their permit holders personal information these days. I remember the local paper publishing a huge list of permit holders names, mine included. I don't recall whey they did it but it sure fried my bacon... still does.
