Or, why do I want another AR?

This one has an EoTech, upgraded handguard & flash suppresor, front handle, and a polished bolt & carrier, but... I want another one. It is totally reliable with any ammo, is more accurate than I am, but...

What would you do differently to this, or what would you replace it with?

Pistol, SBR, or a can.

Cant make a rifle into a pistol. I opened a tactical can-o-whupass on one of my 6920's but I still find myself buying other AR's...

Only other thin I'd like to do to it is ditch the QRP for some LaRue goodness and shoot the barrel out of it so I can have a reason to add noveske to the list of things vie done to it.

I suggested that as the option for building another one.

No reason not to want another one. I want another one, actually 3 more but that's a different story! What kind of lube are you using on that polished BCG? Anyway, here's my M&P15...

Good looking ARs!

I'm just using Hoppes orange bottle lube.

I would SBR it and find a lower riser for the Eotech.

Rail gas block, barrel w/out cut for grenade launcher nobody uses anyway, VLTOR CASV handguard system, Magpul CTR and MIAD grip, RRA match trigger, in 6.5 Grendel.

At least, that was my last one, except for the MIAD (Haven't come across a black MIAD lately...)

Go with AA piston kit...and upgrade your trigger w/ Chip McCormick. You won't regret it.. There were times when I shot mine, to others it looked like I had the happy trigger. Fast forward below clip to 2:16 to see some trigger action.

John, the only three things I'd do to that rifle are:

1. Get a rear BUIS
2. Lose the Riser
3. Get a light and light mount (you'll need a side picatinny rail)

If you're going to get another, the piston route is a good one. Alternately you get get something with a longer barrel and set it up as an intermediate range support rifle. Come on by the house and you can see most of what these guys are talking about except the can.. that's something for next year!!! Add to that I'm going to have a CTR stock that I might be selling here soon.

Nice! Just might have to do that... Hmmm...

Right on - I'll have to take you up on that. That skyscraper of a riser is a result of not being able to get the EoTech zeroed just sitting on top of the receiver. [Bang]

Ah... much better... :)

I haven't had a chance to get it to the range yet, but it "points" much better for me.

I know these kinds of things are preferences.. but why did you go with the AP on the carry handle instead of getting a cantilever mount for it? Puts the optic closer to the bore and allows for a lower 3rd co-witness. Hell I think I have a mount that you can have if for nothing else than trying it out. If you're going to be around, you should swing up to the house next Saturday

The handle is OEM, and the sight came with a mount for it - plus, it just seems to fit me better (I'm not as flexible as I used to be).

Give me a call this week.

Chop the carry handle, I have an Aimpoint QRP that'll line it up perfectly. It'll only cost you a trip up to Thornton; think I paid close to $90 for it. It's the same exact mount on my colt you see there.

Yeah I'll give you a ring later this week. We're building up stock holster bodies this week and weekend so hopefully we can get some consignment stuff going. Plus I've got your stock and QD sling mount sitting on the bench waiting for ya.

That's a very generous offer - thank you very much! I may have to take you up on that depending on how my set up works for me when I can finally get to the range. [Beer]

It's an Aimpoint CompML3.
