Anyone have an Idea of the year of this 30-06. Only marks are U.S. Smith Corona 03-?3 Serial#47884XX. I can find alot of info on the 1903 models used in WW2, but nothing on these sporties...

WOW I have a Smith-Corona 03-A3 but it doesn't look anything like that. Someone put a lot of work into that one. You can usually track the S# on some of the military web sites but I'm not sure about custom rifles. Good Luck [Beer]

Ya shes real pretty, shoots well also! DOB seems to be 1944 from what I have found so far. Still researching.

Beautiful rifle! I'm sure someone at the CMP Forums could tell ya something from the s/n. But shouldn't the bipod be attached to the stock, like where the sling swivel is? I've always heard that attaching things to the barrel isn't good.

Thanx for the tip....The Bipod is just a POS I slapped on the rifle to hold it up for the picture..:)
