This big boy was wandering around the yard like he owned the place. Really beautiful 7x6 buck...haven't seen him around before. I guessed around 275 lbs...maybe a little more. I felt fortunate to have seen him today.

He really didn't want his picture taken and seemed to know to stay in the trees for protection.

Wow - beautiful animal...
Nice. what a neck. They're sure on the move right now. Guess that there hiding out from all the hunters. My yard is full as well. Did you name him yet?
what a shame to have him die right there in your driveway of lead poisoning. Oh well, when's dinner time?
If they become a pest, let me know, I could use some meat!
it really is a shame when they become aggressive and have to be taken down[Swim]
I have a private property whitetail tag in december, I hope I see something nice!

I hunt white tail all year 'round. That's why I don't have time to hunt deer. [Coffee]

Funny thing is, I never was all that interested in learning how to hunt. But after living down here, and seeing at least 10 elk (and lately 30+ white-tail and mule deer) on my 16mi drive in to work where I do not come across another car the entire way, I often find myself wishing I had my rifle!

Hey, I know a couple of them. The one on the right's Jerky, and the next on the left is Sausage, and then I think I saw Tenderloin too.....

Yeah, but after you connect there, if you keep hunting the one you got's liable to hunt you! [Abused]
I was less particular, as long as tail was involved...

I've seen a trucker hat that says this.

Don't forget the rule.
you will NEVER See another person when shooting those with a camera.
You Pull out a rifle and there will be 2 Game wardens right behind you and you will be at least 2 feet too close to the road.

The best part of living up here is having all the wildlife wandering around on the property. I haven't hunted since the mid-90s...just don't have the heart to shoot an animal anymore (that's not trying to eat me, anyway). I would if I had to in a survival situation...but I doubt I'd get any enjoyment out of it other than the not going hungry part.
A couple of years ago I had to shoot a fox that had sorta taken up residence in my barn. He'd been hit on the highway and his back was broken. I didn't sleep for 3 or 4 nights because he reminded me so much of one of my dogs.
I'm just a pansy that way, I guess. So I just enjoy looking at 'em these days.
OK...let the brow-beating commence...

Totally understandable. One of my best friends is in laporte. Turkey and deer everywhere with the occasional bear and elk. He is the biggest hunter I know but wont take anything on his own property because he likes to look at them.
BUT if you ever want to thin the herd or make someone happy just shout and I am sure plenty of us would be more than happy to take a beautiful deer like that!

I saw this guy sitting in a friend's front yard in Bailey today. His doe friend was a little more skittish, and she walked away nervously when I turned into the driveway, but I was driving my truck up the driveway and I got within about 30 feet of this one and he just looked at me in a sort of disinterested manner and continued to sit there.

no brow beating man.
with a broken back, I'd have thought you were an ass if you HADN'T shot him.
it takes a man to do the tough things that need to be done.
thumbs up for Bailey! [Awesom]
