Has anybody ever seen/noticed this flag in Glenwood Canyon? It's really damn hard to see, I can't believe I spotted it one day. Going westbound, it's just under a mile after you exit the big Hanging Lake tunnel. Same flag, just photo from different angles.

I'd love to know the story of how it got up there, no friggin' doubt it was a bee-yotch to accomplish. Climbing up there would be bad enough, but schlepping the flag, pole, tools, etc. too? No thanks, not this feeble old man. Warms my heart to see that there's still people that are patriotic enough to do things like this.

And boy, you wanna piss people off and get 'em honking? Pull over in Glenwood Canyon to take some photos!

I want to see the person that climbs up there twice a day to raise and lower it.

That's very cool, but it seems like you could just walk on the top of the ridge to access it. Every peak should have a flag on it.

Well, you just trot right on up there. I'll hold your beer. Glenwood Canyon - as in, I-70, then the river, then the RR tracks. Where ya gonna park, and how ya gonna get across the river? Maybe there's some way to access that area by car and foot, but I don't know of any. 'Course, what I know don't mean squat.....

You wish! Like I'm going to climb all the way up there, just to turn around to see you drinking my beer. I ain't no dummy!

I'm more concerned with the 4 hour drive down there. Well, and I can't rock climb worth a durn. I'm just saying, it looks like you can come in from another area is all.

I have heard from the local riverguides they some times rappell down the rocks in Glenwood canyon and go into the openings or maybe looks like put up a flag.

I grew up there and that flag has been there for as long as I can remember (I'm 27)

Hmmm, I wonder how tattered it's getting. Looks a little short in that last photo.

You grew up there? In the canyon? I think that canyon's awesome, I love driving through there, when I get to do so in the daytime anyway. I'd love to ride a bike on that bike path sometime, and smoke a cigar by the riverside.
