finishing round for those who got this > < close to completing their builds. have to limit time in shop till 12 noon. this saturday 11/20 9-12 got other plans, but moved them back to accommodate those needing assistance

this question sounds weird reading it vs. knowing what you're asking about. I have an order in we shall see. if not sat. hopefully before next week. the mfg does a limited run over the holidays.

So guys I'm working on a trade with a guy from another forum, trying to get my hands on a neumatic pinch rivet setter as used in the aircraft industry, my friend says it does rivets so fricken easy and fast that it's not even funny (his words) anyway he's a good guy so we're bartering away ;) by the way I'll bring ztekniks reciever drilling fixture and reamers saturday anything else needed?

yea i have a tuff time with em too!!
i made a long jig for them but seems like i always start to fold the tops over-i think im just gonna make em flat and round up the edges
i was thinking of making somthing for them out of a balljoint press
you kow-the big c clamp looking thing and make some sort of dies thatll fit in where the sockets go for the balljoint
i think harbor freight sells them fairly cheap-i dont wanna hack up my otc set

I like your thinking it just might work, I'm tempted to try hot forming my long rivets maybe it would make them softer and easier to form straight if they're glowing orange haha.

Bob next time you're out here we'll go down to my good russian meat shops for some jatronice, spekacki and salami. Also we'll hit the bakery for some polski chleb, rholiky, and knedliky too ;) ah I love ethnic foods, especially from my ethnicity haha

Anyway see you guys in the morning, gunoholic, I'll put my building asside if needed so we can get your 74 done for your holiday shooting ;) and bring that yugo krink if you don't mind, I'd love to drool all over it.

I have to finish my rear trunion and do heat treating, then figure out what to do with the virgin barrel. Hopefully I'll get up to that step soon.

seriously, I don't think softer will help much, it'll just fold over faster... lol

Thanks again jim I left my reamers accidently, also I left my spot welder incase you still needed it for your underfolder.


Gary I think you're right about hot forming, I think revor is on a better path about making sure the un formed shank is the right length.

I might have grabed my reamers otherwise the'd be a 5mm and a 7mm on the shelf next to you drill press in plastic cases, I'm not worried about them as if I don't have them I know you do and it give me another excuse to pop over haha sorry we forgot to forget a rifle ;)

The Romy we fiddled with last weekend with coat of BBQ paint, baked and oiled.
Right now it has a natural hand guard set on it and a Romy folder. I'll get a pic of that too.
