View Full Version : Safeway at 84th & Federal closing 12/05
I thought I'd let the guys up North know about this. Probably a good time to stock up on discounted foods.

Really? Wonder what is up with that? I know the store manager there, or one of them anyway. Might need to make some phone calls.
They've always been a low volume store. They have to compete with the King Soopers at 84th and Pecos and there is another Safeway up at 104th and Federal. I wish I would have known you knew people in management there, maybe it would have helped me land a job there. Not that it matters now.
Starting tomorrow they're %25 off and going to %50 off as of friday. I'm sure that's an up to X% type of sale.

sorry about that. I checked and the store manager I knew recently retired from that location after a few hundred years.
I went in there today as well. They confirmed the prices Wulf stated, said it could even be up to 75% off by Friday depending how it goes. I asked if they had other places to go as well. It sounds like they are getting sent all over the place, and some low seniority people run the risk of loosing jobs. This sucks, I just applied at Safeway the other day. I can't see how a whole store closing is going to help me get hired on.
Apparently they also may be closing a store in Brighton.

Most Safeways are union. Just FYI.

Yeah I know, but I'm running out of options. Thanks though.
