part of what makes top gear so cool are the brit hosts and guests.

Reading this makes me sad. I DVR'd it and was looking forward to a US based Top Gear but it sounds like they missed the mark.

It's like when they tried to replace the hosts of the Man Show...
So sad...

It's the personalities that make the show so I didn't bother.

There is only one Top Gear - Clarkson, Hammond and James.

Tanner Foust is about as entertaining as a piece of drywall. The fat guy is irritating, and Adam Ferrara is not funny.

Saw a commercial for it and threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Finally watched the first show and while I think it's not amazing to do think people are being overly critical of it. Sure it's shaky but this is episode 1 and not season 16 like it's BBC counterpart. Have you seen episode #1 of the BBC version? While there is room for improvement for sure (which I think they will make if given the chance) it's better than watching Car Week which is about our only other option. I will continue to watch & support it even though I can't stand Tanner Faust because he drives me nuts. I feel like they put limited production into it just to see if it's popular and if it is they will go all in just like every other show in the first season. Either it has the spark and people watch or they don't. While this isn't BBC Top Gear it's got potential and tremendously entertaining for exotic car fans still. Given the footsteps they're trying to follow (perhaps a mistake on their part for going with the same name, theme song, Stig and everything else) it's not going to be an easy rode and they will always be compared to them directly. That's part of the pros/cons of using the same name for notoriety but I think they will get things worked out in time. This is my hope anyway since we have limited car shows to watch and you can only watch 6-7 episodes per season of Top Gear BBC so many times. Of course it's the king but let's not forget there's always room for other shows and they don't all need to be the king in this segment.

You realize you wrote that in ENGLISH, right? Let's not forget Monty Python and that document, what was it? Magna Carta something?

We don't cotton to no furriners on the teevee's.

(I should clarify I'm just kidding around here)
