View Full Version : Browning safe issue...ideas?
I have a year old browning safe with the dial lock on it. Now the last number on the combo will not lock in the tumbler. I can feel the dial try to pickit up but it is not working. Like it got stuck or jammed.
Anyone else run into this issue? Browning said too bad. So any ideas on getting it open? I don't want to distroy it or the contents by cutting it open.

Browning said too bad.
Wow! That sounds like a fucking outstanding company. Just going to add them under hi-point on my list.
Sorry to hear that. Locksmith maybe? May want some proof of ownership if they even can help.
You might try contacting the lock people. I checked a couple months ago and there is at least one official S&G lock dealer in Denver metro area. I don't have the info anymore. I found them by going to the S&G website and getting the local dealer.
The only other thing I can think of is to make sure the handle isn't turned against the stop one way or the other.
You might try a search on this website. I kinda recall someone asking a safe question but I am not sure it was here.
Good Luck

"...five-year warranty from the lock manufacturer..."

Assuming you are the original owner...yeah...the corporate world is weak on their good days...pound em' on their bad ones...get your due at a minumum from the lock mfgr. Press Browning and the vendor as well, in-writing, if nothing else just be a tactful ass-hole and burn a few "budget-bucks' from their Cust Svc and Legal shops. I would.
Good thing I didn't buy a browning safe. Keep us updated!! I would call them flaming them on their "warranty". If all else fails you can drop the safe off a plane on top of Browning corporate HQ, after you get your contents out. That would be awesome to see!
