For those of you looking for an affordable red dot:

See reviews on ARFCOM. I put one of these on my SW 15-22 because it was affordable and have had no problems at all with it. [Beer]

Any other opinions on these? The ARF.com thread is overwhelmingly positive.

I've ordered lots of equipment from Primary Arms and can say they are a very stand up company...I dont hesitate to order anything from them. With that said I've had there micro dots on ARs and they've worked great. This deal for the M3 is a sweet deal, hoping my wife will get me this for a future 10/22 build!!

So, is there a difference between the M3 and M4 aside from the M4 having better battery life and being somewhat larger?

The M4 takes a AA battery while the M3 takes (2) LR44 batteries. Also IIRC the M3 has a 4moa dot and the M4 has a 2moa dot.

I actually took advantage of this and picked up 2 PA M3's, I figured that even with a savings of only $20 it's still a great deal. I read EVERY post on the thread on arfcom and the reviews that were bad, Marshall quickly addressed and changed those bad reviews into excellent customer service reviews. Everyone on the site though said that shipping was usually the same day, I ordered at 4am yesterday (up that early for work)...and I have still not received an email saying my order has shipped. Oh well, I hear they are worth the wait!

edit to add: The M3 has a 4moa dot, uses 2 LR44 batteries and is less expensive. The M4 is $89, uses a single AA battery but has 4 different reticles to choose from. I have heard though that switching between reticles is a bad idea once you zero it on your reticle, because it changes zero. I had planned on getting the M4, but more and more reviews said the M3 is better, easier to use and still great quality for only $69 (I got mine for $49 :D )

Just read this...

Of coarse Marshall will gladly take back the M3s that people aren't satisfied with and coverage shipping back also!

Wow, that is incredibly disappointing! I hope I don't get a large one, but I have a feeling I got screwed over and the larger dot was sent to me. :( Guess I'll just have to wait until next week sometime when they show up (stupid USPS taking extra freaking long to deliver stuff when you live in the mountains)

Turns out they've been sending out large dots since May 2010. Marshall went to the range today and tested them, turns out they are 6moa, not 4moa like advertised. The guy that noticed it was able to get Marshall to exchange his M3 for an M4 (which is more expensive). I'm going to try to get to the range today and see what I think, if it's too large I may call them up and see if they'll swap out both M3's for a pair of M4's. I'll probably have to pay more though.
