View Full Version : How many need training?

How many people here would get a CCW permit, but they lack the necessary training?

I'm an NRA pistol instructor and can take care of that if need be. I'm just trying to gauge interest or need. If there is enough interest maybe I can do a class for members.

Just a thought.

Yea, I'd consider it. :D

even if one didn't want/need to get a CCW, it's good training!

well I plan on getting my CCW when I'm old enough, so sure I could use it.

Uh LA69, YOU DON'T NEED IT! At least not for CCW purposes. You're active duty dude. That's one of the qualifying requirements. Now get back to studying and earn my tax dollars youngin. :P Karl.

I've had the NRA training necessary for CCW, and have my CCW, but IMO I cannot have enough training in regard to firearms. My wife and I would welcome anything, but money is an issue right now (I know that wasn't mentioned, but I had to say it :P )

Well when you're the instructor, cost is always negotiable. (Or waivable.)

I'm doing the tactical pistol class in Pueblo next week. Just bought 1000 rounds of .40. They tell me we'll burn it all in two days. I wonder if I'll have sore hands?

Anyway, if there's enough interest I'm sure we can put something together. Even if you're active duty and not old enough to get the permit, you can still take the class and save it for someday.

I'd like to take it as well, but money is a factor for me as well. I'm saving up to buy a new car and wont be able to spend money on ANYTHING for the next several months. Let us know about cost, and when it will be held. Karl.

my wife needs to do her training. The prevailing rate seems to be about $100? I don't think I've seen anything cheaper than that.

I could probably use a refresher. My training is about 8 years old.

I've seen it as low as $75.00. IIRC, it's $75.00 at Dragon Man's when they do it. Karl.

I think I'm in the "don't really think I need CCW right now but could sure use the training" category.

then again, I should probably buy a handgun first.

I already made arrangements and took the course from a very good instructor. As a matter of fact, he even posts here on occasion. We know him here as bbadmin, Marlin, Lancelot, etc.... er uh, strike Marlin, that's never really been confirmed. Ask bbadmin if he has any classes planned. Karl.

i'm interested in some low light training... since most confrontations take place in low light situations...

Hi bbadmin,

I would really appreciate the training! If there's a chance to get more, that would be great...

Are you thinking discounted price, or free (whoa cool!) or full? What types of training are you thinking of offering? Do you know if there is a chance to get discount NRA memberships? I'm short on money right now, but hopefully that won't last long, and I have no problem giving to a legitimate, worthwhile, and appropriate cause.

Thank you for the opportunity!

I'd definately send my wife to it. I might be interested as well just for the sake of getting some extra training. It really just depends on the cost and what it involves.
