But how could anyone rob that place? Doesn't that sign mean that no one can carry a gun in there?

Obviously, when you post such a sign, firearms magically evaporate upon crossing the threshold. It's for your own protection, so you won't have to buy a new gun.

no kidding?

Let's see if I understand this. Post a picture of a gun with a line through it, makes guns evaporate...

So that means if I tack up a set of films from a lower GI series at work and cross them out... all the a$$ho!es will go away too?

Woah, utter stupidity...

Colorado is primarily a conservative state...
Conservatives are far more likely to get married than liberals, which means conservatives are more likely to buy engagement and wedding rings.
The middle class tends to be dominantly conservative.
Men generally tend to also be more conservative and are the ones who buy expensive jewelry for their wives.
Many conservatives get hacked by anti constitutionalists and will spread the word about this type of act.
People who carry tend to put money into their CCW weapon and their CCW rig which means they are probably more able to buy jewelry.

So I guess this company is in a big hurry to put themselves out of business?

Good riddance

Jarrods is over priced anyway.

So far the only place I have seen a no gun sign is Bonfils Blood and the Mills shopping center.

FWIW: The Shane Co. does not have signs posted of any kind, walked around freely... of course, they probably got DNA samples from everyone walking through the door somehow

The Jared in Colorado Springs (woodmen & academy) is posted as well. My then girlfriend and I went in there to look at jewelry despite the sign, got a couple free sodas and picked out what she wanted, then I bought it somewhere else.

In fact I think I'll email them to inform them that they lost out on a sale because of this stupidity.

They also had a rent a cop in the place carrying a revo.

Here's what I emailed to them:

"I recently visited your Colorado Springs location to look at diamond engagement rings with my then girlfriend (now fiance). While we enjoyed the selection of rings and diamonds and found one she liked very much, I was not able to purchase it because of a sign on the door which said firearms are not allowed into the store. As you may know many citizens legally carry firearms for self protection, unfortunately you have chosen to make your store a zone where only criminals and rent-a-cops can carry guns. Therefore I spent about $X,000 on a diamond engagement ring at an establishment that respects my right to carry a firearm. I suggest that you remove these signs if you want my business in the future."

You can email them at https://www.jared.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Jared/ZAskQuestion2.jsp?catalogId=10451&storeId=10451&langId=-1

Here is the reply from Jared:

"Your customer service representative is:James Klimo
Summary: Merchandise at Jared

Dear rtr,

I would like to respond to your e-mail concerning the Firearms/Weapons policy
posted at our Jared location.

Recently a law passed that allows residents to carry concealed weapons and
firearms. Private employers have the right to ban weapons and prohibit persons
with weapons from entering the premises. For the safety and security of our
customers and store employees Jared, the Galleria of Jewelry, has made the
decision to ban weapons and anyone possessing them from entering the store.

If I can be of additional assistance, please contact me.

James Klimo
Customer Relations"

Notice the ignorance of the law.

I support the right of individual businesses to ban weapons, fat people, people of particular races, religions, or sexual predilictions. But of course I have the right to not patronize those businesses.

I'd never buy anything from them anyway. Their ads are too annoying. :P

Wish we had the money for a few spoofs of their commercial.

Man hugs his wife and presents her with a wonderful diamond. She hugs him and his concealed carry peaks out a little from under his jacket.

"Thank you so much, Steve!" she says. Then turns to the camera and says "HE didn't go to Jarreds!"
