View Full Version : Anyone running a PWS FSC556?
What are your thoughts? I hear it's great as a comp and decent for a flash hider, obviously this is a inbetweener so best of both worlds are compromised. I also read reviews of it being super loud! What other choices would be great to look at.
I run one on a 16" carbine and a 14.5 carbine. Big difference on muzzle flip and it is louder.
I run one on my 18" SPR don't notice hardly any muzzle flip, but yeah it is loud!

My wife & I are both running them on 16" guns. Hers is a BCM lightweight & mine is a heavy BM pig. Both guns just kind of sits on target & vibrate with each shot for me.
I don't think the blast, from the shooter's perspective is bad at all. Standing next to one is a bit different though.
I would do it again if the Battle Comp hadn't come out. That'll be what I put on my next suitable project- whenever that comes around. The BC is the only other one I'd consider unless you have a specific reason to go with something else.
I got one on my 20" Larue...virtually no recoil. I don't notice any difference behind the gun from any other AR.
Been running them on 3 AR's for a long while. It's the best of both worlds. While the Battle Comp is giving the FSC556 a serious run for it's market, I don't see where having one or both would be going wrong.
As many have noted, the muzzle blast is significant and to some, annoying when they are online with the shooter. Look at the angle of the tangs and you'll see where the "blast" area is going to be. The reduction in muzzle rise is very noticeable, especially in lighter or shorter weapons.
I also personally don't worry about anyone being besides me and getting bothered by the blast. I'm just inconsiderate that way I guess :)
Yep I want one but I gotta try and find a used one or wait till the new year. Thanks for the responses guys!
Watch Barfcom and you can save around $10 on a used one.
Yea I've been watching. Found one from a FN Scar for $70 but I might hold out and hit up Bowers after the Holidays! Also I really don't need the flash suppressing so the PWS TTO might work for me also but the FSC556 looks "cooler".
Damnit now I'm stuck again between the FSC556 and the Rainier Arms XTC(Xtreme Tactical Compensator). I guess I'm concerned about the noise factor I keep hearing about the FSC556. Is it really something to be worried about?
Hell why not, Rainier isn't going to steer you wrong, good folks at that shop. Plus try this discount code..

And if nothing else, you'll have a reason to go harass Rob and Mike.. they deserve it!

The PWS is a great device! I run one on both my ARs, and love them. Standing next to one may be a bit of a shock at first if you're not used to it, but its not something that cannot be overcome.
Well I think I'll try the xtc at almost half the price and pretty much the same results.
We'll be expecting a range report

I have the FSC556 on my 16" carbine. Works awesome, but my friends definitely dont care for it as much if they are not the ones shooting. Its really loud from inside a vehicle too.. :/
Just wait and pony up for a KAC inconnel flash hider, http://www.knightarmco.com/mod_weapons_4.htm
Also the battle comp looks pretty rad as well, just another to consider.

2 year old bump...I'm debating ditching my troy for one of these...while the giant fireball is cool....it sucks shooting under low light...
I have one of the sorter versions of this and it works quite good too.
