I know a lot of you don't like DISH and have alternative ways of getting your TV shows but I wanted to share this with those of you who have DISH. I've been in into any budget saving methods I can find for awhile now. I called DISH yesterday to see if I could keep their service at a lower monthly cost. Lo and behold I can get my local channels and 20 cable channels for $14.99 a month with their Welcome Package. This package is not advertised or found on their web site !! You folks that need sports channels like ESPN,this is not for you since it's not part of the deal. I may miss some of the channels I liked but I sure didn't need the basic 120 I had. I hope this helps those of you that are feeling the economic pinch. [Beer]
Nice find! Could you list the 20 channels?

Ditto on that and the $14.99 a month is that an introductory rate for a year and then raised thereafter or a guaranteed flat rate?

If your a current customer that rate is fixed for that package. New customers I don't know. I also need to say I'm paying extra for my DVR receiver and I kept the Outdoor channel. I've still cut my bill in half to $24.99 not including state tax.

I am looking for something for my aunt who is not currently a customer and cannot afford any pay T.V. Will have to look into details further but thanks for the heads up!

New customers usually get good deals like free installation. It seems that current customers usually don't get any deals with anybody not just DISH. [Rant1]

That's more of a "save a customer" package that they offer, and not offered to everyone.
Ugh, DISH... (worked there for almost ten years, hehe). They do have a good product though, it's just a crap company.
