I've gone nuts. I just built a 50 ft 4-lane slot car track in my basement.
I haven't been posting much lately because I've been working on it! Check this out:

Over Thanks Giving we had some people over. I bought a small trophy and we had a 9 person double elimination tournament. It was crazy fun. Not shown in the picture is a 180 degree banked turn and this weekend I added a computer control lap counter race manager.

You have been shopping at Sportsman's..... I almost bought there 4 lane set up. My first job was at a place that had 3 tracks (1/24) and sold Karts and Hodaka cycles. :)

Actually, I haven't been there since the one by us closed. But this is actually 2 track sets plus lots of extra tracks. It was the AFX Tomy super something set and another AFX set.
I've been looking for a reason to post this video on this site. Ronald, this will be you by this time next year.

Hodaka- now there was a bike-the Combat Wombat!
There used to be a place in downtown Englewood when I was a kid that had a huge 9 or 11 lane track IIRC. I think the cars were 1/12th scale or so. Place was pretty cool for a 8 year old and good memories.

AFX or Tyco? Did a lot of this as a kid. We would put our money into mods on the cars. Had a 40 foot drag strip. Better tires, better motor, etc. Car and Driver tests for kids.

AFX
1 of these sets:
http://www.brshobbies.com/catalog.php/BRSHobbies/ct/pd343711/TOMY_AFX_71241_International_Super_Challenge_4_Lan e_HO_Race_Set
plus 1 of these:

And some extra track
I just added race manager software. It counts the laps and controls the power for starting and stoping the race.
