Authorities say an individual has been arrested in the Baltimore area for plotting to blow up a military recruitment center.
Antonio Martinez, a Muslim convert who called himself Muhammed Hussain, was arrested and will appear in federal court on Wednesday, Fox News confirms.
An official told Fox News that the arrest was part of a sting operation and that there is no threat to the American public. The official said the suspect was given a phony bomb and was arrested after trying to detonate it.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the suspect's goal was to blow up a military recruitment center in Baltimore County.
One official told Fox News that this is "another Portland-type case."
Martinez is a reportedly a U.S. citizen

This sure happens a lot ... something smells fishy about this to me and I can't put my finger on it. Its almost like the Fed.Gov is setting these events up so it looks like they're actually doing something about terrorism. I dunno, maybe I'm just too cynical.

I've wondered how many of them would have sat there and done nothing if they hadn't had an agent show up and tell them they could produce a bomb.
In the end though, I don't really care, since they would pull the trigger given the chance, lets put them in jail where they won't ever get it.

Wave at the black chopper [Tooth]. Which part of the religion of peace don't people understand? They had the opportunity to do the holiest thing in the name of Allah and they took it.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the entrapment angle because if you would never have thought of murdering people, someone handing you a gun isn't going to turn you into a murderer.
Someday we (and by we I mean the entirety of western civilization) are going to have to confront this problem head on and stop pussyfooting around.

It's a cycle... It happened 3 times in the past 1500 years or so. Let's hope it wont happen in this life time.

They seem to be working the problem as hard as they (legally) can. You saw the news about the FBI plant in a California mosque, where people from the mosque reported the guy to the FBI and got a restraining order against him?

I have the feeling that if I come back to this thread again, it's going to be full of "All muslims are terrorists lol, kill 'em all" shit that will make me rage.

Not all Muslims are terrorists, but if one reads the Qur'an and Hadiths its clear that the Muslim version of the Christian "Great Commission" is to convert, enslave or kill everyone else in the world.
Naw ... no need to kill 'em ... just get them to drink beer and eat pork and they'll relax and be so happy they won't feel like killin' us :p
Seriously though there are some "reform" movements within Islam ... these need to be encouraged.
Of course if you watch Iran, they're ready to start nuking Saudi as soon as they have some bombs so maybe this will become a self correcting problem.

They're just trumpeting their successes, even if only the ones against the unbelievably stupid and incompetent.
Pretty scary that all they have to do is dangle the bait of opportunity, and there's people waiting to snap it up.
Yeah, I was just working a few miles away from the event when it all came down at 9:30 this morning. The guy who works at Trac Auto at the same plaza, said he heard a loud bang at the back entrance of the rec. center; then he saw alot of black-clad armed SWAT types charging across the parking lot. The rec. center was closed for the rest of the day.
"An affidavit filed to support the charges and written by FBI Special Agent Keith E. Bender details that escalated from Martinez's idea to get a rifle and 'shoot everyone' in the recruiting station to the bombing."
