You wouldn't believe how butt-hurt the left is about the tax-cuts for the rich being extended:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW3a704cZlc&feature=recentu

Although I guess the guys here that were/are on unemployment get another year extension.

The worst part, really, is the 2 years. Because that would put it when, right before an election. Yeah, someone is going to raise taxes before an election. The democrats are laughably bad.

Let's look at the real "Meat and Potatoes" of this "Tax cut"
Taxes will see a "recess" for two years= reduced income to the Government for two years.
Unemployment is extended for another year= additional expenditures by the Government for a year.
Now maybe it is just me but it seems like they are going around the block to cross the street.

liberals are hypocrites.

they mercilessly attacked bush his whole presidency, then suddenly when obama got elected it was all about "bipartisanship" and ending the bickering for the good of the country.

how convenient.

now, obama is acting in a bipartisan manner and they hate it and are attacking their own golden boy.

they will completely ignore all the noble values they espouse during election season when it suits their agenda.

they called bush a fascist, but these shitheads will gladly welcome american dictatorship when it comes.

I swear I've read this exact rant from a Leftie, where "obama" is replaced for "bush" and vice versa, along with "conservative" <=> "liberal" and "right" <=> "left" translations. It'd be really funny if it didn't make me so sad. If you get to the point where you think the opposition is cattle, there's little hope of reconcile.

IT'S NOT A TAX CUT
When you keep things at the same rate they are currently at, that's not a cut!!!!!!!!!!!

The unemployment doesn't extend them another 13 months, it just keeps that welfare (and the extensions are welfare, the first 26 weeks are insurance) open for 13 months, so once you've run out that 99 weeks that's it.

I think extending a tax cut that was going to sunset IS still a cut, if only on future taxes, not present ones. :)

Still weasel words though, to be sure.

I am reading in various places that businesses are getting clobbered with huge increases in unemployment insurance premiums.

Obama is not a moderate but his decisions are being forced that way.

Pres. Obama said on Tues.
"I've said before that I felt that the middle-class tax cut's were being held hostage to the high end tax cuts," Mr. Obama said. "I think it's tempting not to negotiate with hostage-taker's, unless the hostage gets harmed. Then people will question the wisdom of that strategy. In this case, the hostage was the American people, and I was not willing to see them get harmed."
That explanation was terrorist enough for me. And I call for Mitch McConnell, John Kyl and John Boehner to all go "jump in the lake."

And that's assuming one wants to reconcile. Personally, I don't want to "reach across the aisle" or "work towards bipartisanship". I want a true conservative government.

I have absolutely no use for liberals or liberalism.

But that's just me.

Absolutely gentlemen. We (taxpayers) aren't saving anything; we're just getting a reprieve from having to pay more.

My mom always paid like $1 for Unemployment Insurance. This last time around she paid $900.

I hope the Estate Tax goes away and never, ever, ever comes back. Almost nothing infuriates me more than the Estate Tax, and I'm 99% sure I'll never even have to worry about it. MOTHER FUCKERS! That is all.

"The easiest way to create jobs, and keep jobs, is to make sure the unemployed continue to have money to spend"

I'm pretty sure that is the polar opposite of everything I've ever learned about economics and basic personal finance.

My opinion on this is that Obama backed the extension of the "Bush-era tax cuts" to everyone after working a quid pro quo deal with the Repub's where the Repub's had to support a pet of Obama's - perhaps the DREAM Act?

I still say this whole this is a ruse and based off of a deal with the GOP to get favors out of them at a later date.

I suspect we'll all be feeling the negative results from the repercussions of this soon.

This man ALWAYS has an agenda that is ultimately not good for us in the end.

I wish they would extend the Bush tax cuts permanently. after that, increase the social security tax cut...maybe down to like 0.

I really don't think i will see social security. if I do, I will be 80 years old when the benefit kicks in and will be worthless compared to the money I put in.
Whatever happened to saving for the future, putting money away for retirement, saving for a rainy day etc etc etc.

I am extremely disappointed these "tax cuts" which are not cuts at all are not being extended longer.

They want to give citizenship to illegals for a lifetime, yet they can't give tax cuts to American citizens for more than a year or two.

fuck reaching across the isle any more. lets take over the white house in 2012, then the senate and RAM our agenda down their throats and up their ass. I want them to take it from both ends, along with the bullshit special interest groups.

This is so funny, because the things you want done, are good for the country. It's like saying, "People need more love and happiness. I want to jackhammer love and happiness down people's throats and up their asses!" heh

His son killed himself this week. He hung himself. He sent his wife an email saying how much he loved her, and that someone should check on their 2 year-old kid; who he was watching at the time. What a fucking asshole.

Don't get me started on that one. That pisses me off big time as I did it the legal way and it isn't cheap or quick!

If you want something enough then go and do it, legally! Don't hop across the border expecting freebies.

Democrats and illegals just piss me off!
