Another member of the greatest generation has left us. I didn't know Jim but he was a longtime member of the CCCSC club and apparently a pretty special guy. You'd have to be something special to put up with the crap he had to deal with in WW2 and still not be hateful and bitter. I think we all could learn a bit from his life's example of overcoming adversity.

I met him and a few other TA at an air show in Longmont in the mid-90s.

I told him he and his fellow TA were some of the greatest heroes of the war and I was honored to meet him and shake his hand. He cried and said, "Thank you so much for saying that."

I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

RIP, Sir.

I believe I met him at the Peterson AFB physical therapy once, several years ago.

I have always been in awe when I have read stories of the Tuskegee Airman and their missions. They were truly a breed apart, He will be sadly missed.

A great example of a great person succeeding despite adversity. I think their attitudes serve as an example to everyone. Godspeed, Major Harrison.

Men of his caliber come along far too seldom. When I look at the men who fought WWII and compare them to the generations we have raised recently I weep.

RIP
