Whew, I did not think that Sara was going to connect; but she finally did.
Was that first rifle "0" off, or is she that bad of a shot?

The first rifle was off. When they got back to camp, her dad said it was on and tried hitting a target with it and couldn't!

I saw it- didn't catch where they were- but they could have been the first people that caribou ever saw... it was curious, and had no idea it's life was in danger.

Alaska is just that big, with that few people- and many caribou.

pretty awesome to see a potential presidential candidate shoot a caribou on television.

Roosevelt comes to mind, hopefully Palin will use some of his same techniques to get people involved in hunting, protecting the outdoors, wildlife and be a truly good conservationist.

Some ass hat on another fourm said that she just shot it for fun, not for food or anything. But then i was thinking if she did, she would have pissed alot of people off on national TV

Sounds like an asshat for sure. At the end of that episode, they show Palin cleaning it and putting it in her freezer!

By the way the caribou turned it's head to the left, after one of Sara's shot's; the bullet must have went left after the cow heard it go snapping by. It was a cow she shot was'nt it? I heard that they are the best eating.

I have some caribou left in my freezer, never known the difference between bull or cow. It all tastes good to us alaskans.
