I've been lusting after this thing since it was first announced. I try and swing into SS&S a couple times a month, hoping they have one in stock.

I've recently taken up hiking, and I'm just SURE this is the PERFECT hiking handgun.

Naw, The perfect hiking handgun is the G20 with a 15 rnd mag

Seriously though Micheal, That is a nice one, I've always have had an intrest in the .41 Mag. Just never could find one I could afford.

Not bad, your going to pay for the light weight.

I'll take my 657 with 6" barrel 8)

...it's still not as punishing as a 329PD.

SS&S finally has one in stock.

$739.99....

Anyone know the details of their lay-away plan?

Any thoughts on the wooden stocks (grips) -vs- the rubber ones?

The backstrap is exposed on both anyway.

I've read some theories that the rubber just gives it a running start before it hits you...?

To me when the backstrap is exposed it feels the same on my hand, the rubber just gives me a better grip (feel).

I finally got to shoot it.

It's a MAGNUM.

Whew!

Shot about 50rds. It was really windy -- so much so, that it blew away one box of ammo!

Actually, I found most of the cartridges, but still.

Tried a few factory loads. Winchester 175gr Silvertips. PMC 210gr. Buffalo Bore 170gr and I think the 230gr Buffalo Bore SWC. Also some Speer 210gr Gold-Dot. And my 200gr HP handloads w/6gr of titeGROUP.

As suspected, the 175gr Winchester was the mildest factory load. I haven't run any of them over the Chrony yet.

Shot 1 rd of the Buffalo Bore "heavy" 230gr. Just one. I

Somewhere along the line, it "bit" me and pulled a chunk of skin off my strong-hand thumb. Or maybe it bilstered and popped. Also got a blister on my support-hand.

It is light though...
